The Sacramento Kings would have likely hired Patrick Ewing as head coach if Dave Joerger didn't become available.

Ewing is currently associate head coach of the Charlotte Hornets and has long sought a head coaching job in the NBA.

With Georgetown firing John Thompson III, there has been speculation Ewing could have interest in the job. Ewing has so far been committed to the NBA.

Ewing's son had been on Thompson's staff and he's remained close and loyal to the Thompson family.

The Charlotte Hornets have agreed to sign Briante Weber to a two-year deal.

Weber was coming off his second 10-day contract with the Hornets.

Weber was previously on successive 10-day contracts with the Golden State Warriors.

The Charlotte Hornets will sign Johnny O'Bryant to a contract for the remainder of the season.

O'Bryant had been with the Hornets for two 10-day deals.

O'Bryant appeared in 25 games (all starts) for the D-League’s Northern Arizona Suns this season, owning averages of 18.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists, and was selected as a 2017 NBA D-League All-Star‎.

Nicolas Batum is scheduled to undergo a CT scan on his brain Wednesday as he deals with extreme migraine headache.

Sources say it's "a scary period" for Batum. The source said that the migraines were described as "excruciating."

Batum re-signed with the Hornets on a five-year, $120 million deal during the 2016 offseason.

Batum is averaging 15.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game this season.

The third-year pro scored a career-high 15 points on 7-of-9 field goals in a win against Denver on March 4.
