Hornets Didn't Pull $7.9M Qualifying Offer To Miles Bridges

Jul 18, 2022 4:02 PM

Miles Bridges remains a restricted free agent this offseason after he was arrested on June 29th and charged with felony domestic violence. The allegations against Bridges were documented and published by the victim shortly after the incident.

Bridges has a court date in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

While there have been no teams linked with a contract offer to Bridges, the Charlotte Hornets did not withdraw their qualifying offer to him by the July 13th deadline.

In order for Bridges to become an unrestricted free agent, he would have to agree to Charlotte withdrawing the $7.9 million qualifying offer.

Bridges was widely expected to receive a long-term contract offer well over $100 million in total money in free agency.

Cody Martin, Hornets Agree To Four-Year, $32M Deal

Jul 2, 2022 6:03 PM

The Charlotte Hornets have agreed to re-sign Cody Martin to a four-year deal worth $32 million. Martin had been a restricted free agent this offseason.

Martin is coming off a career-best year for the Hornets. He played 26.3 minutes per game in 71 appearances. Martin averaged 7.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 steals.

Martin was considered to be one of the better 3&D options in this free agent class. Charlotte has some uncertainty at the wing position, which made re-signing Martin a priority.
