Anthony Morrow Will Stop Wearing Derrick Rose's No. 1 After Criticism From Fans

Feb 25, 2017 10:49 AM

Anthony Morrow will choose a new number with the Chicago Bulls after he received criticism from fans for wearing Derrick Rose's No. 1.

Morrow suited up in the No. 1 and was on the bench for the Bulls' 128-121 win over the Suns but did not play.

Michael Carter-Williams also wore No. 1 earlier in the season but then switched to No. 7 after dealing with angry comments from fans.

Morrow had no idea about the outcry from some fans regarding the jersey number until he was told about the situation from assembled media members in the locker room.

Bulls Won't Buyout Rajon Rondo, View Him As Trade Piece In June

Feb 23, 2017 8:28 PM

The Chicago Bulls plan on keeping Rajon Rondo for the remainder of the season.

With Rondo on a partially guaranteed deal for the 17-18 season, the Bulls view Rondo as an attractive trade chip in June to facilitate a potentially larger deal.

The Bulls traded for Cameron Payne at the deadline and he figures to get a shot to be their starting point guard.

Rondo lost his starting point guard job in December.

76ers Call Bulls On Availability Of Jimmy Butler

Feb 23, 2017 1:56 AM

The Philadelphia 76ers have reached out to the Chicago Bulls this week about the availability of Jimmy Butler. The Boston Celtics have also had interest in Butler in the past.

The Bulls have told teams they have no plans to trade Butler.

When the Bulls and Celtics discussed a Butler trade in June, they were seeking Jae Crowder, either Marcus Smart or Avery Bradley, as well as No. 3 and No. 16 picks in the 2016 draft.

Like the Celtics, the 76ers are capable of putting together an enticing package for Butler with their combination of young players and future draft pick assets.

Bulls Being Run From Business-First Perspective

Feb 23, 2017 1:24 AM

Michael Reindsorf has taken a larger role within the Chicago Bulls this season as Jerry Reinsdorf has shifted to being purely an advisor on major decisions. Even then, Jerry Reindsorf wants his son to have final say.

Former and current Bulls personnel believe Michael Reinsdorf is running the team from a business-first perspective and measures success by the franchise's profitability and marketability. While winning a title remains a priority, it takes a back seat to the Bulls' financial health.

Multiple sources indicated that the anger expressed by several corporate sponsors went a long way in the Bulls staying away from a full rebuild in the offseason, leading to the Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade signings, despite neither being a fit for what coach Fred Hoiberg likes to do offensively.

This calculus figures to play a part in the Bulls' decision on whether or not to trade away Jimmy Butler.

Okafor has been on the trading block by the 76ers for several weeks.
