Andre Drummond: I'll Go Down As The Best Rebounder Ever

Aug 21, 2022 2:03 PM

While speaking at a youth event, Chicago Bulls center Andre Drummond said he hopes to play until he's well into his 30's. And when all is said and done, Drummond said he hopes to be remembered as the best rebounder in NBA history.

“I think I’m already there,” Drummond said. “I’m on my way. By the time I retire, I’ll go down as the best rebounder ever — if not already.”

Drummond's 13.3 rebounds per game average stands as 11th all time. The 6-foot-10 center has led the NBA in rebounding four times during his 10-year career. While the per-game numbers may not place Drummond in the top-10, that's mostly a result of the way the game has changed. Drummond's overall rebound percentage ranks at 24.66%. That's first all-time, ahead of Dennis Rodman's 23.44% rebound rate.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Says He's Open To Playing For Bulls Later In Career

Aug 15, 2022 12:30 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo has four seasons remaining on a five-year, $228 million extension with the Milwaukee Bucks he signed before leading the team to the 2021 championship and has generally signaled a strong commitment to the franchise.

In promoting his new ambassadorship with the telehealth company Antidote Health, Antetokounmpo was asked by Fox 32 Chicago about the potential of playing for the Bulls in the future. And while reiterating his commitment to the Bucks, Antetokounmpo said he would be open to the idea of one day playing for his rival down in Chicago.

"I think anybody you ask that question that plays basketball, if he said no, he'd be a liar," Antetokounmpo said in the interview with Fox 32 Chicago. "It's a team that won multiple championships; it's a team that one of the greatest players, if not the greatest player to ever play this game, played for. So it's a no-brainer; everybody would love to play for Chicago."

The Bucks eliminated the Bulls in the first round of the playoffs.

"Down the line, you never know. You never know how life brings it, maybe I play for Chicago," Antetokounmpo said. "But right now I'm committed to Milwaukee."

The 6-foot-7 wing played for Chicago during Summer League and averaged 7.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Lewis went undrafted out of Marquette at the 2022 NBA Draft and the Bulls agreed to a Two-Way deal with him shortly after the draft.
