Andre Drummond will meet with the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics, and Charlotte Hornets, sources told Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.

Drummond and the Cavs are expected to agree to a buyout after the team was unable to find a trade partner at the deadline. 

The Cleveland Cavaliers were unsuccessful in trading Andre Drummond and will work on a buyout.

Drummond has been most strongly linked with the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets.

The Denver Nuggets have agreed to acquire JaVale McGee from the Cleveland Cavaliers for Isaiah Hartenstein and two future protected second round picks. Cleveland will receive a 2027 unprotected second round pick and a 2023 second round pick protected through No. 46.

McGee will give the Nuggets depth at the center position behind Nikola Jokic.

McGee previously played for the Nuggets and signed a four-year, $44 million contract with the team in 2012.

The New York Knicks have emerged as a serious potential destination for Andre Drummond. The Knicks remain $15 million below the salary cap.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been trying to trade Drummond since January.

If Drummond is not traded and eventually bought out, he has been most strongly linked to the Los Angeles Lakers.

While a trade of Andre Drummond is appearing unlikely, the Cleveland Cavaliers may be successful in trading away JaVale McGee before the deadline.

McGee is receiving interest from a number of contenders.

McGee is averaging eight points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game this season.

Dan Gilbert remains in a wheelchair following his stroke in May of 2019 and has taken a less active role with the Cleveland Cavaliers while recovering. One of Gilbert's sons, Grant Gilbert, is currently the team's director of content and brand strategy at the age of 23.

According to The Athletic, Grant Gilbert "is on the fast track as his father's heir apparent" to run the Cavaliers.

Grant Gilbert also consults with the basketball operations side to be "in the know" on their plans.

“That’s not my everyday focus,” Grant Gilbert said. “I’m not making decisions and planning my life based on that. There are a lot of things I want to do. I’m sure there are a lot of things I don’t know that I want to do that, hopefully, I’ll end up doing. But in terms of staying engaged and helping impact and being involved (with the Cavs), that’s something I want to do for the rest of my life.”

“He’s definitely gonna take over,” said one source, who does business constantly with Cavs’ basketball operations. “His dad’s not able, and he’s the next in line.”

“Gilbert’s son is running the show behind the scenes,” said a second league source.

“Grant’s trying to take a bigger role,” said a third source with knowledge of the Cavs’ operations. “But (he has) zero experience.”

The Cavaliers "vigorously refuted this" sentiment. 

Andre Drummond is expected to be bought out by the Cleveland Cavaliers if he is not traded by the deadline and the Los Angeles Lakers are considered the favorites to sign him once he clears waivers, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

"The league believes, and I know that's a vague statement, but I'm saying it that way to avoid trapping myself," said Windhorst on his podcast. "The league believes, numerous teams I've talked to believe that Andre Drummond is heading for the Lakers if slash when he gets bought out.

"And there's a growing belief that LaMarcus Aldridge, the leader for LaMarcus Aldridge is the Heat.

"Now, let's see how everything plays out this week. The Heat could make moves that change their dynamic. Other teams could make moves that change their dynamic. I know the L.A. teams have interest in LaMarcus too and the way things go, that could end up being the case.

"Multiple people I've talked to in the league with multiple teams believe that's a possibility."

Drummond was traded by the Detroit Pistons to the Cavaliers at last year's deadline.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed guard Quinn Cook to a second 10-day contract.

Cook (6-1, 179) has averaged 5.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in 12.8 minutes through four games with the Cavaliers after signing his first 10-day contract with the team on March 12. He also played in 16 games for the Los Angeles Lakers this season before being waived on February 24.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks have discussed a deal involving Andre Drummond, sources told Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer.

The Cavs are looking for at least a second-round pick in return.

The Raptors also remain interested in Drummond.

The Lakers and Nets could be potential destinations should Drummond be bought out. 

The Cleveland Cavaliers have received trade interest from several playoff teams on JaVale McGee.

But some are gauging the potential for McGee to be bought out by the Cavaliers before relinquishing assets.

McGee is on a $4.2 million expiring contract.
