Ricky Rubio has started to think about the end of his career. While on a podcast in his native Spain, Rubio said he's started considering ending his career back home.
“I am starting to consider my return,” Rubio said. “Going home. To Barcelona. Close to home.”
Rubio previously played for Barcelona prior to joining the NBA in 2011. He's played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz, Phoenix Suns and Cleveland Cavaliers during his 12-year NBA career. Rubio's current contract with the Cavs is what he's focused on completing before considering a return to Spain.
“I have two years left on my contract. Maybe one,” Rubio said. “We will see.”
The final season for Rubio in 2024-25 is partially guaranteed. His deal for this coming season is fully guaranteed.
