The Dallas Mavericks have reassigned rookie guard Jared Cunningham to the Texas Legends, the Mavericks’ NBA Development League affiliate. 

Cunningham returns to the Legends following an assignment earlier in the season when he played in seven games, and averaged 18.1 points, 3.0 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 37.0 minutes. 

In eight games for the Mavericks this season, Cunningham is averaging 2.0 points in 3.3 minutes per game. Originally selected in the first round (24th overall) of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cunningham’s rights were traded on Draft Night to the Mavericks.

Rick Carlisle confirmed on Sunday night that the Dallas Mavericks will keep Mike James for the remainder of the season.

"He's done a really terrific and solid job for us," Carlisle said.

James, whose second 10-day contract expired after Sunday's win, has averaged 2.9 points and one assist in nine games for the Mavericks while providing a stabilizing presence at point guard behind Darren Collison.

The Texas Legends of the NBA D-League have acquired guard Delonte West.

West filed paperwork to enter the D-League in an effort to make an NBA comeback.

West was let go by the Dallas Mavericks in November.

The Legends are the Mavericks' D-League affiliate.

The NBA has announced the reserves for the 2013 All-Star Game in Houston.

Fifteen teams have at least one All-Star (Knicks, Heat, Celtics, Bulls, Pacers, 76ers, Blazers, Spurs, Rockets, Warriors and Grizzlies), while 15 teams do not have a representative (Hawks, Nets, Bobcats, Mavericks, Nuggets, Pistons, Bucks, Wolves, Hornets, Magic, Suns, Kings, Raptors, Jazz and Wizards).

The 76ers and Cavaliers each sent a Coaches Vote All-Star despite a losing record, while the Lakers and Celtics have two starters despite a sub-.500 record.

The Nets, Hawks, Bucks, Nuggets and Jazz all have a record over .500 and no All-Stars. 

The All-Star starters are LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Garnett, Dwyane Wade, Rajon Rondo, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard and Chris Paul.

Delonte West has filed paperwork to enter the NBA D-League's player pool.

As the first team in the waiver wire, the Texas Legends could claim West, who is also garnering interest from the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzles, however, are most likely to pass on West.

The Dallas Mavericks parted ways with West in November.

The Legends are the Mavericks' D-League affiliate.

Rashad McCants is close to signing with the Texas Legends.

The Legends are the D-League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks.

McCants most recently played in China.

The Memphis Grizzlies will sign Bill Walker, Delonte West and Sasha Vujacic following their cap clearing trade on Tuesday.

Vujacic has been playing in Europe, while West was released by the Mavericks in October.

Shawn Marion was fined $25,000 by the NBA on Saturday because of his public criticism of officials after the Dallas Mavericks' overtime loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday.

Kevin Durant went 21-for-21 from the free throw line Friday on his way to a career-high 52 points.

“It’s hard to beat anybody when you’re playing five-on-eight,” Marion told reporters. “That’s nuts. Some of them were fouls. Some of them were questionable. But it is what it is.”

Mike James has signed a second 10-day contract with the Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavericks must sign James to a contract for the remainder of the season when this contract expires if they wish to retain him.

Mike James' 10-day contract with the Dallas Mavericks will expire at midnight on Thursday.

James is confident that he will receive a second 10-day deal from the Mavericks.

“I’d say that there’s a great chance that he’s going to be there tomorrow, after tonight,” Carlisle said. “And by the way, I thought his play at the end of the third quarter and early in the fourth may have been the difference in the game.”

Following a second 10-day contract, Dallas would need to sign him for the remainder of the season.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that I’m not supposed to be nowhere but the NBA,” James said. “I don’t think I’m a FIBA player. I don’t think I’m a D-League player. I know I’m an NBA player.”
