Wilson Chandler signed a one-year deal in China in order to prevent sitting out during the NBA's lockout.

"Wilson’s instruction to me as his agent was, ‘I want to play,’ ’’ said Chris Luchey, who negotiated the deal. “And ultimately, China’s is the closest season to the NBA from the standpoint that they play three games a week, and it is a shorter season and he has an opportunity to go back to the NBA once the season is over. And we knew when he decided to come, it would set the trend and that more guys would come over."

Kenyon Martin has signed a one-year deal in the Chinese Basketball Association.

Martin's agent, Andy Miller, confirmed to The Associated Press the forward has agreed to a deal with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers.

Danilo Gallinari has agreed to a contract with Olimpia Milano that will last until the end of the NBA lockout.

Gallinari passed his physical and Olimpia Milano has solved his insurance issues.

J.R. Smith has signed a one-year contract with Zhejiang Wanma of the China Basketball Association, according to sources.

Smith would have been an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Wilson Chandler, Smith's teammate during the latter part of the 10-11 NBA season on the Nuggets, also signed a one-year deal in China.

J.R. Smith is close to agreeing to the richest contract in the history of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to sources.

Smith would make more than $3 million to play with Shanxi for the 11-12 season.

Smith would be unable to be an unrestricted free agent in the NBA.

Kenyon Martin has hired Andy Miller as his new agent.

Martin will turn 34 in December, but he should still command a sizable contract because of his contributions on defense.

Martin was previously represented by Brian Dyke.

Starting Monday, dozens of pro players are expected to compete in an NBA-only league in Las Vegas, according to longtime trainer Joe Abunassar, a driving force behind the league.

Among the 40 or so players currently committed to playing are Knicks guard Chauncey Billups, Knicks forward Shawnie Williams and New York rookie guard Iman Shumpert.

Others include Wizards guard John Wall, Memphis forward Zach Randolph, Bucks guard Stephen jackson and Nuggets forward Al Harrington.
