The Denver Nuggets are signing guard Rayjon Tucker to a 10-day contract via the hardship exception. Denver has five players out with long-term injuries and is in the midst of a COVID outbreak, as well.

Tucker recently completed a 10-day hardship deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The third-year guard has also played for the Utah Jazz and Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA.

The Denver Nuggets have signed wing Davon Reed to a third 10-day contract via the hardship exception. Reed will be available for the Nuggets next four games.

In regular circumstances teams are limited to signing a player to just two 10-day contracts. Following the second deal, a team has to sign the player for the remainder of the season. This year, the NBA and NBPA agreed to allow teams to sign players to more than two 10-day deals, due to the health and safety protocols.

Denver coach Michael Malone said that Reed has proven he's an NBA player. Malone was impressed with Reed's confidence and play and would like to keep the wing long-term.

Michael Malone has tested positive for COVID-19 and has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols.

David Adel will serve as acting head coach of the Denver Nuggets while Malone is out.

Davon Reed has completed two 10-day hardship contracts with the Denver Nuggets, but the team hopes to keep him beyond those deals. Reed has impressed head coach Michael Malone with his play, along with his confidence.

The Nuggets recently got Bol Bol back out of the health and safety protocols, which means the team is no longer eligible for a hardship exception that doesn't count against the luxury tax. That complicates keeping Reed, as Denver is less than $1.5 million below the tax line.

Denver is still eligible for a traditional hardship deal, as P.J. Dozier, Markus Howard, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. are all out long-term due to injuries. The Nuggets could petition the league for an additional roster spot, but any contract signed would count against the tax.

Reed also has Two-Way contract eligibility remaining. That opens up an additional avenue for the Nuggets to keep him on their roster.

With COVID outbreaks around the NBA, combined with injuries, several NBA teams are struggling to put competitive rosters on the court. As such, the NBA has postponed five games through Tuesday, December 21.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Atlanta Hawks - Sunday, December 19

New Orleans Pelicans at Philadelphia 76ers - Sunday, December 19

Orlando Magic at Toronto Raptors - Monday, December 20

Washington Wizards at Brooklyn Nets - Tuesday, December 21

This brings the total number of postponed games to seven. The league previously postponed two Chicago Bulls games against the Detroit Pistons and Toronto Raptors.

The NBA and NBPA are continuing talks on increased roster sizes, as well as lack of cap/tax penalties when a player is signed via hardship.

The NBA has postponed the Brooklyn Nets and Denver Nuggets game scheduled for Sunday. The Nets have 10 players in the health and safety protocols and two other players injured. The Nuggets are down six players due to injury and illness.

The league previously postponed the Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers game scheduled for Sunday.

Nets-Nuggets is the fourth game postponed this season.

The Denver Nuggets will re-sign Davon Reed using the hardship exception. 

Reed played six games with the Nuggets this season in his first stint.

Markus Howard suffered a sprained left knee in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's game.

Howard will be reevaluated in six weeks.  

Howard has played sparingly for the Nuggets this season though his minutes over the past week had increased. 

Isaiah Thomas signed with the Grand Rapids Gold of the G League, reportedly due to his relationship with head coach Jason Terry. Both Thomas and Terry are from the Seattle area.

The Gold are the G League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets, but a source tells Mike Singer of the Denver Post that "there's a slim chance he's ultimately going to get called up to the Nuggets."

Thomas will participate in the G League Showcase as he continues to attempt a return to the NBA. 

Denver Nuggets guard Facundo Campazzo will become a restricted free agent in July. If Campazzo has his way, he'll stay in the NBA for his next deal.

"My mind is 100 percent set on this, in the NBA. This league demands the most out of you both physically and mentally," Campazzo said.

Campazzo joined the Nuggets after playing the first nine years of his career in his native Argentina, as well as in Spain. The 30-year-old point guard has been a key rotation player for Denver for each of his two NBA seasons.

The Argentine is also a member of his country's national team. Campazzo has played in three Olympics and two FIBA World Cups for Argentina.
