Warriors Improve Offer To Tolliver, Wolves Still In Picture

Jul 29, 2010 10:11 AM

Anthony Tolliver expects to sign with the Warriors or Timberwolves.

"I haven't made a decision yet," Tolliver said, "but we're getting there and I hope to have a decision soon.

"Once they have their final (financial) figure and years guaranteed, that's when I plan on making my decision --unless somebody comes in late," he added.

Tolliver said the Warriors' initial contract offers were "really low. I was disappointed."

The Warriors have since improved their offer to Tolliver.

Curry Attributes Lee's Injury To 'Warriors Curse'

Jul 23, 2010 7:43 AM

Warriors guard Stephen Curry played just 10 minutes with new teammate David Lee during a scrimmage on the first day of Team USA's minicamp.

Lee went down with an injured finger soon after and will miss four-to-six weeks.

"It was the curse of the Warriors," Curry said. "I don't know what else it is. Every time someone joins our team, injuries seem to happen."

Golden State missed 501 games because of injuries last season, the second-highest total in NBA history since the league began tracking injuries 23 years ago.

The Warriors already have a head start on the 2010-11 season with Lee and rookie Ekpe Udoh already on the shelf.

Warriors Expect To Be Active At 2011 Trade Deadline

Jul 23, 2010 7:31 AM

Warriors general manager Larry Riley has swung quite a few deals this summer and it appears as though he's not done re-making the team's roster.

Golden State wants to add a third guard and perhaps another big man, but Riley expects to be active around February's midseason trade deadline.

"The way that our roster is set and the way we've managed the cap, we might have some players who will be valuable at the trade deadline," Riley said. "If we don't do anything then, we'll have a pretty good piece of money to operate next summer."

Golden State Signs Jeremy Lin

Jul 22, 2010 7:41 AM

The Warriors officially signed undrafted point guard Jeremy Lin on Wednesday.

He became the first Asian-American player signed by Golden State since 1947. The Bay Area has a very large Asian population.

"I consider myself a basketball player more than an Asian-American," said Lin, who is from the Bay Area. "I'm ready to play at this level and I appreciate the support of the Asian community. This is a dream come true. I always wanted to be in the NBA and now I get to do it with the Warriors, the team I grew up watching."

Lin averaged 16.4 points, 4.5 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game as a senior at Harvard.

"This has not sunk in yet," he said. "I've had a lot to think about the last 12 hours and I still can't get my head around it. Growing up I had my Latrell Sprewell poster and Joe Smith jersey."

Devean George Wants To Re-Sign With Warriors

Jul 18, 2010 12:24 PM

Devean George wants to re-sign with the Warriors and hopes that coach Don Nelson returns as well.

"Yeah, I am," George said when asked if he's worried about whether Nelson will stay.

"But I don't know. I just figure that (the new owners) come in, they probably maybe let him finish the year, and that will be all. I don't know. If they want to make changes, get a coach, get new people, I'm sure they might want to get everything settled first."
