Bogut Fully Participates In Practice For First Time Since Fracturing Ankle

Oct 30, 2012 2:11 AM

Andrew Bogut was a full participant in Monday's practice, the first time he has done so in training camp with the Golden State Warriors.

Bogut participated in full court play and contact drills without limitation. This was Bogut's first full practice since fracturing his left ankle on Jan. 25.

Bogut's status for the regular season opener remains in doubt.

"At the end of the day, it's going to be asking whole lot for him to be Andrew Bogut from Day 1," Jackson said. "But we're making steps toward that."

Warriors To Start Harrison Barnes At Small Forward

Oct 30, 2012 2:04 AM

Harrison Barnes will start at small forward for the Golden State Warriors on opening night.

"Starting was definitely a goal of mine," Barnes said. "Playing in the NBA and starting on opening night is a huge accomplishment. But my mindset is not going to change. I'm going out there and try to provide this team all of the little things I can to help us win."

Barnes was the Warriors' lottery pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Barnes largely won the job by proving he isn't a liability on defense despite being a rookie.

Oct 21, 2012 12:20 PM

Stephen Curry is out for the remainder of the preseason, while Andrew Bogut will not play in a single preseason game for the Golden State Warriors.

Curry re-injured his surgically repaired right ankle on Friday. Curry was seen by his surgeon on Saturday, who expressed no concern over his latest issue.

Bogut's ankle was seen on Friday and the surgeon said he was progressing on schedule.

"We're not going to set a timeline because it will be when he's 100 percent," Bob Myers said about Bogut. "It's more feel. It's his body, how his ankle is responding. ... (Ferkel's) not telling (Bogut) he can't do five-on-five. All he's telling him is keep moving forward and listen to your body."

D-League's Dakota Wizards Move To Santa Cruz Approved

Oct 10, 2012 12:24 PM

The Golden State Warriors, the NBA Development League and the city of Santa Cruz, Calif. announced today that the Dakota Wizards, the Warriors NBA D-League affiliate, will relocate to Santa Cruz beginning with the 2012-13 season.

The team will be known as the Santa Cruz Warriors.  The Warriors bought the Wizards prior to the 2011-12 season and are one of 11 NBA teams to have one-to-one relationships with their NBA D-League affiliate.

The team will play the 2012-13 NBA D-League season at the as-yet-to-be-constructed Kaiser Permanente Arena, a temporary basketball facility in Santa Cruz, the construction of which is a three-pronged effort between Golden State, the city of Santa Cruz, and the Seaside Company.

“We’re excited to bring the NBA D-League brand of basketball to Santa Cruz and Northern California,” said NBA D-League President Dan Reed.  “The relocation of the team from Bismarck to Santa Cruz further demonstrates the Golden State Warriors’ commitment to developing top young NBA prospects in the NBA D-League.  We thank the fans in Bismarck for their support of the team over the last six NBA D-League seasons.”
