Ian Clark Agrees To Sign With Warriors

Jul 27, 2015 3:22 PM

Free agent guard Ian Clark has agreed to sign with the Golden State Warriors, league sources told RealGM on Monday.

The two sides are finalizing terms on Clark’s deal after the 6-foot-3 guard’s commitment, sources said.

Clark will return to the Warriors organization for which he starred during the Las Vegas Summer League championship in 2013 — featuring a 33-point MVP performance with seven 3-pointers in the title game. Clark’s run with the Warriors led to a multi-year contract with the Utah Jazz.

Clark, 24, has averaged 2.4 points on 34.4 percent three-point shooting in 53 NBA games. He went unselected in the 2013 NBA draft out of Belmont.

Bob Myers Reveals How He Likes To Identify Players Who Want To Win, Hate To Lose

Jul 21, 2015 8:03 PM

Bob Myers of the Golden State Warriors talked about part of his player evaluation process to Zach Lowe of Grantland.

Myers focuses on the last six minutes of close games and watches for specific sorts of non-shooting plays.

“I’m looking for guys who make winning defensive plays,” said Myers. “Do they take charges? Do they win 50-50 balls? We want to find players that don’t just want to win, but really hate to lose. Like, if we’re playing Monopoly, and I land on Park Place before you, do you just say, ‘Life goes on, I’m getting a beer’? Or do you get really pissed?”

The Atlanta Hawks have signed guard Justin Holiday to a multi-year contract.

“Justin's abilities on both ends of the court excited us as we looked to add depth on the wing,” Mike Budenholzer said. “His combination of length and versatility with a great work ethic give him a chance to be a solid contributor on the court, and his experience on a championship team this past season and his high-character will be great positives for our locker room.”

A two-year NBA veteran, Holiday played in 59 games (four starting assignments) last season for the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, averaging 4.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in 11.1 minutes. He also saw action in five postseason contests.
