Tracy McGrady sat out the Rockets' practice on Friday with a sore left shoulder but is still expected to play against the Spurs on Sunday, according to the Houston Chronicle.
"He couldn't practice today," Coach Rick Adelman said on Friday. "We'll see how it is (Saturday). He was sore, so he sat out."
Houston is a half-game behind New Orleans for the top seed in the Western Conference.
The Houston Rockets and the NBA will celebrate Dikembe Mutombo's ability to just keep on going at half time of the Rockets' game against Minnesota tonight, the Houston Chronicle is reporting.
Mutombo, who is in his 17th season, has not yet made a decision on whether this will be his final season.
"It is a celebration of Dikembe Mutombo's career as it's getting close to saying goodbye to the game," Mutombo said, laughing. "Am I putting it correctly or not?"

The Rockets will sign free-agent center Loren Woods to a 10-day contract to fill their last open roster spot, according to the Houston Chronicle.
They hope to have him in Houston by the end of the week.

Boston ended Houston's 22-game win streak on Tuesday night with an emphatic win at the Toyota Center.
Kevin Garnett had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Celtics, who notched a 94-74 victory over the red-hot Rockets in Houston.
Tracy McGrady went 4-for-11 from the field for the Rockets, who were outrebounded by nine and turned the ball over sixteen times.
Ray Allen is likely to miss to Boston's game against the Rockets on Tuesday night, according to ESPN.com.
Houston is looking to extend their winning streak to 23 games.
Celtics' Coach Doc Rivers told members of the media on Tuesday afternoon that he doubted Allen would play because of a bruised heel.
Houston guard Tracy McGrady was so impressed with the way that teammate Shane Battier played against Kobe Bryant on Sunday that he expects him to make the All-Defensive team, according to the Los Angeles Times.
"If Shane Battier's not on the All-Defensive team, I'm protesting," McGrady said. "I'm boycotting the All-Defensive team, seriously, because this guy did a phenomenal job on the best scorer in our league."
