Budinger Moves Into Houston Starting Lineup, Terrence Williams To Get Rotation Minutes

Feb 26, 2011 7:05 PM

With Shane Battier traded to Memphis, Chase Budinger will replace him in the Houston starting lineup.

Terrence Williams will also move into the team's rotation.

Williams was acquired this season in a three-team trade from the Nets.

"All I know is guys are going to have chances to do things that maybe they weren't," Rick Adelman said. "We'll find out about Terrence. We'll find out what Chase can do starting. I'll just go from there. Everybody has an opportunity they didn't have before when you lose two of your top six players."

Williams has been increasingly frustrated by his lack of minutes since coming to the Rockets.

"I know how to play basketball," Williams said. "I think that's why I'm here. It's nothing new. I'm not going to be nervous if there is opportunity. I should be all right."

Adelman Won't Discuss Coaching Future

Feb 26, 2011 10:10 AM

Rockets coach Rick Adelman wouldn't comment when asked how the team's trades would impact his desire to return next season.

"I really don’t want to answer that at this point,” Adelman said. “There is no reason to. I’m in the same situation these guys (players) are. I have to do whatever I can to try to see if we can get in the playoff picture. It’s tough. I lost two guys I really think a lot of and really meant a lot to us.

“I look at the team today. In 3 1/2 years since I came here, we have only two guys left, Luis (Scola) and Chuck (Hayes.) That’s not a lot of stability. I came to coach Yao (Ming) and Tracy (McGrady) and ended up with Luis and Chuck. It is kind of amazing those are the only two guys left. I told them, ‘This is the group we have. What are you going to make of it?’ That is the same approach I have to take.”

The Rockets traded Shane Battier and Aaron Brooks prior to Thursday's NBA trade deadline.
