James Harden's 30-Point Streak Ends At 32

Feb 26, 2019 10:30 AM

The 30-point streak of James Harden ended on Monday after 32 games. The Hawks held Harden to 28 points in the game.

Harden's 32-game run of performances of 30 points or more marked the second-longest such streak in NBA history behind Wilt Chamberlain's 65-game streak.

"It was cool," he said. "I knew I wasn't going to get to No. 1."

Harden had a chance to get to 30 before the final buzzer, but elected to hold onto the ball with the game decided.

James Harden: Scott Foster Has Personal Issue, He Shouldn't Officiate Our Games Anymore

Feb 22, 2019 11:08 AM

James Harden was critical of Scott Foster after Houston's 111-106 loss at the Lakers in which he fouled out and was called for four offensive fouls. Foster called only two of the fouls against Harden, but both occurred at critical times.

"Scott Foster, man. I never really talk about officiating or anything like that, but just rude and arrogant," said Harden. "I mean, you aren't able to talk to him throughout the course of the game, and it's like, how do you build that relationship with officials? And it's not even that call [on the sixth foul]. It's just who he is on that floor.

"It's pretty frustrating. And I'm probably going to get hit [with a fine], but honestly, I don't really say anything. I'm a pretty quiet guy, to myself, but it's one of those things where you can't voice your opinion. You can't have a conversation with someone that's officiating the game. You're getting a tech. It's pretty sad."

Chris Paul also called out Foster publicly last season.

Foster was the crew chief the last time that Harden fouled out, in a Dec. 22, 2017, loss to the LA Clippers.

"It's lingering, and it's something that has to be looked at for sure," Harden said. "For sure, it's personal. For sure. I don't think he should be able to even officiate our games anymore, honestly."

Chris Paul On Matchup WIth Rajon Rondo: 'Write The Check, Move On'

Feb 21, 2019 12:18 AM

Chris Paul said he was unconcerned about his Thursday matchup against Rajon Rondo.

It will be their first meeting since the Rockets and Lakers played in the second game of the season. Paul and Rondo, along with Brandon Ingram, were ejected and suspended for fighting.

"There's a lot of worse things that have happened since then. I forgot about it. Once the fine, write the check, move on," said Paul.

James Harden Characterizes Streak As Something He Has To Do To Help Rockets Win

Feb 19, 2019 12:44 PM

The Houston Rockets are 21-10 during James Harden's streak of 30 points in 31 games. Harden says the streak is out of necessity rather than trying to achieve an individual goal.

"The scoring streak is obviously amazing, but it's something that I just had to do because of our situation," Harden said. "We had all the injuries and guys in and out of the lineup and things like that. So I think the streak just started happening, and now it's like something to talk about.

"But it's not something that I'm really honestly focused on. That's something I have to do in order to give us a chance to win the game."

Harden is averaging 41.5 points on 27.3 field goal attempts during his streak.

Harden admitted it is sometimes difficult to block out criticism of his style.

"Yeah, I hear it. It's hard not to hear it -- especially nowadays," Harden said. "You have social media. You have fans that are reading what people saying and ask me about it ...

"I try my best to block [criticism] out, but it's kind of hard, you know? Especially when it's coming from like ex-NBA players, you know? So it makes it more difficult, but, obviously, everybody's entitled to their own opinion."

Clint Capela Expected To Return After All-Star Break

Feb 14, 2019 1:28 AM

Mike D'Antoni stated that the Houston Rockets game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night was "the last one until Clint comes back, probably."

Capela has been out since injuring his thumb on January 13th.

"He's doing everything without contact. I guess those two practices will determine whether he will play the first game (after the break) or not," added D'Antoni.
