Justin Holiday Being Unvaccinated Could Impact His Trade Market

Jan 29, 2022 10:14 AM

Several teams have expressed interest in trading for Indiana Pacers wing Justin Holiday. One thing impacting Holiday's trade market is his status as an unvaccinated player.

Holiday has stated in the past that he has no plans to get vaccinated. He's called that a personal decision for him and his family.

Several NBA cities are still working with mandates that don't allow for unvaccinated players to play in home games. That could make those teams reconsider trading for Holiday.

Indiana is known to be looking for two second round picks for Holiday. He's one of several Pacers available as the trade deadline approaches in less than two weeks.

Domantas Sabonis Could Return This Weekend From Ankle Sprain

Jan 27, 2022 8:51 AM

Domantas Sabonis sprained his right ankle in the Indiana Pacers win over the Los Angeles Lakers on January 19. After an absence of more than a week, Sabonis seems to be on track to return this weekend.

Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said Sabonis is improving each day and it's possible he could play this weekend. Indiana plays back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday at the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks.

Sabonis continues to be in trade rumors, as the Pacers look to reset their roster. Recent reporting is that it would take a package like the one the Orlando Magic got for Nikola Vucevic for Indiana to move Sabonis. The Magic got two first-round picks and Wendell Carter Jr. as the primary return in that deal. Orlando was also able to shed the salary of Al-Farouq Aminu in the trade.

Malcolm Brogdon Out 10 Days With Achilles Soreness

Jan 23, 2022 7:56 AM

The Indiana Pacers injury-plagued season continues to get even more difficult. Starting point guard Malcolm Brogdon was shut for at least 10 days to deal with soreness in his right Achilles.

Brogdon has missed considerable time over the last month. He was out for nine straight games in late-December into early-January. He's only been able to play in three of the Pacers last 17 games overall.

Indiana is also without fellow starters Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner and Caris LeVert, as well as sixth-man T.J. McConnell. In addition, T.J. Warren has yet to play this season as he rehabs from a foot injury. All of the absences have seen the Pacers tumble to 13th in the Eastern Conference, where they are six games out of the final spot in the Play-In tournament.

Domantas Sabonis Likely Has 'Significant' Ankle Sprain

Jan 20, 2022 11:07 AM

The Indiana Pacers got a win on the road over the Los Angeles Lakers, but may have lost their All-Star center in the process. Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said postgame that Domantas Sabonis "has an ankle sprain that's probably going to be significant."

Sabonis appeared to hurt his left ankle with just under five minutes to play. He rolled his ankle when he landed on Russell Westbrook's foot while grabbing a rebound. Sabonis was able to stay in the game despite the injury and recorded a triple-double.

The injury comes at a difficult time for the Pacers. Indiana is already without big man Myles Turner, who is out with a stress reaction in his left foot. He won't be re-evaluated for two weeks and has no timetable to return. In addition, the Pacers have been discussing trades for both Sabonis and Turner. How this impacts that process is unknown at this point.

Kings Discussing De'Aaron Fox In Trade Talks For Domantas Sabonis

Jan 19, 2022 9:40 AM

The Sacramento Kings are now willing to discussing star guard De'Aaron Fox in trade talks. One player the Kings are looking at is Domantas Sabonis of the Indiana Pacers.

In previous trade discussions, including ones for Ben Simmons, the Kings were not open to talking about trading Fox. That's now changed, and Sacramento has put their franchise player on the table in a trade that would return an All-Star.

For his part, Fox knows trade talks are part of life in the NBA.

“In most sports, most players come up in trade talks,” Fox said recently after practice. “Obviously, you don’t have too many people who are really untouchable, so you always know something can happen.”

Lakers, Blazers, Knicks, Jazz, Wizards, Celtics, Pacers, Wolves, Kings Interested In Jerami Grant

Jan 18, 2022 11:22 AM

The Detroit Pistons have received interest in Jerami Grant from the Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings.

The Pistons are seeking either two first round picks or one first round pick plus a high upside young player in exchange for Grant.

Grant expects to sign a lucrative extension in the ballpark of four years, $112 million this offseason.

Washington is viewed by some league personnel as a favorite to trade for Grant. Grant grew up in the D.C. area and is familiar with Wes Unseld Jr. from their time together with the Denver Nuggets.

The Memphis Grizzlies have been mentioned in some circles speculatively, but they're not expected to pursue Grant.

Indiana Asking For First Round Pick And Young Player For Caris LeVert

Jan 17, 2022 8:43 AM

The Indiana Pacers are seeking to reset their roster, and trading Caris LeVert seems to be a part of that process. Indiana would like a first-round pick and a young player in return for LeVert.

The Pacers are also talking trades for big men Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis. Indiana doesn't want to fully rebuild. They are looking to reset their roster around whichever big man remains out of Turner or Sabonis, along with Malcolm Brogdon and rookie Chris Duarte.

LeVert has averaged 17.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. Several playoff contenders have been linked to LeVert to provide offense on the wing. The Cleveland Cavaliers are regularly mentioned as a team looking at trading for LeVert.
