Patrick Beverley is expected to miss several games after spraining his wrist against the Utah Jazz last Saturday.

X-rays revealed no break in Beverley's wrist.

Doc Rivers 'Concerned A Little Bit' By Patrick Beverley Wrist Injury

Dec 29, 2019 12:03 PM

Doc Rivers expressed concern over Patrick Beverley's wrist injury following the Los Angeles Clippers' 120-107 loss to the Utah Jazz.

Beverley hurt his wrist early in the 3rd quarter. X-rays revealed there was no break, though Rivers added that Beverley could still miss games.

"We knew there was no break, but that doesn't mean he is going to be out or not. It could be a bruise, it could be anything. He clearly felt like he could not even grab the ball, so that is not a good sign. I'm concerned a little bit about what the injury is, if it's an injury, if it's just a one-game thing -- hopefully it's that," said Rivers.

Rivers added that the Clippers were also down due to the flu, with Montrezl Harrell leaving the arena before the game after feeling sick.

Kawhi Leonard Denies Knowledge Of Report On Dennis Robertson Asking For Improper Benefits

Dec 26, 2019 11:58 AM

In response to a report from Sam Amick of The Athletic about Dennis Robertson asking teams for improper benefits, Kawhi Leonard tried to evade the topic when asked.

“I don’t know, I didn’t read it, so I don’t know how reliable it is — I don’t have no knowledge of it. I have no knowledge of it. People make up stories every day,” said Leonard.

Canada’s Rogers Sportsnet previously reported that Leonard made “unrealistic” requests of the Raptors in free agency.

According to Amick's reporting, Robertson asked for an ownership stake, access to a private plane and a guarantee on endorsement opportunities.

Kawhi Leonard: Christmas Day Game Wasn't To Win L.A. Championship

Dec 26, 2019 10:56 AM

Both the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers tried to downplay the significance of their highly anticipated game on Christmas Day. The Clippers are now 2-0 on the season against the Lakers.

"It was another road game," Kawhi Leonard said. "Christmas didn't have nothing to do with it."

"It's a long season," LeBron James said. "It's a marathon."

"It does nothing," Leonard said when asked what his team's victory meant to the Lakers-Clippers rivalry. "It's one game out of a season. Whoever won this game was not going to win the L.A. championship or anything. Both teams got their eyes on the biggest prize."

Raptors Never Believed Lakers Were An Option For Kawhi Leonard

Dec 23, 2019 4:30 PM

Magic Johnson had planned to be part of the Los Angeles Lakers' meeting with Kawhi Leonard despite his resignation several months prior as president of basketball operations.

The NBA reminded Johnson that he would not be allowed at the meeting since he no longer was employed by the Lakers and had resumed his presence as a media personality.

Leonard and his camp had sought privacy in his free agency process, but Johnson spoke publicly about his involvement with the free agent.

The notion that Leonard's decision would be impacted by Johnson didn't add up since he was no longer involved with the team.

“We did exactly what (Robertson) asked us to do,” a Lakers official involved in the process said. “They never said anything about keeping Magic’s mouth shut.”

A source with knowledge of Toronto’s process said the Raptors never truly believed that the Lakers were an option for Leonard.

The Lakers continued to pursue Leonard because one of their players had been told that Leonard truly wanted to join their team, according to a source.

Report: Dennis Robertson Sought Improper Benefits From Lakers, Raptors

Dec 23, 2019 3:48 PM

The NBA conducted a formal investigation of the Los Angeles Clippers last offseason, according to three sources with knowledge of the situation that spoke with Sam Amick of The Athletic. The investigation focused on complaints that Kawhi Leonard's uncle, Dennis Robertson, had asked for improper benefits during the free agency process.

Sources say the NBA investigation found no evidence that the Clippers granted Robertson any of the improper requests.

According to sources, Robertson asked for part ownership of the team, a private plane that would be available at all times, a house and a guaranteed amount of off-court endorsement money they could expect if Leonard signed with their team. Robertson made those requests repeatedly to Jeanie Buss over the course of three phone calls.

The discussions with Robertson led Buss to suspect the Lakers were being used for leverage to help him get what he wanted from the Clippers. Sources say Robertson made similar requests to the Raptors.

The NBA subsequently doubled their fines for tampering while also re-emphasizing its ability to conduct random audits.

“This is because of Dennis. He didn’t know the rules,” said one agent.

Said one owner: “This (league-wide discussion) is all because of Uncle Dennis.”

Gavin Newsom Approves Fast-Tracking Clippers' Inglewood Arena

Dec 17, 2019 11:16 AM

Gavin Newsom has approved fast-tracking the billion-dollar arena complex the Los Angeles Clippers want to build in Inglewood.

Newsom certified the project under legislation to shield the project from extended environmental litigation.

“Receiving the state’s certification is just more evidence that this project will be by far one of the most environmentally friendly and energy efficient sports venues in the country,” said Chris Meany, the developer and project manager for the arena.

The Madison Square Garden Co. owns the Forum less than two miles away and pledged to continue its fight against the project.

Several environmental and community groups and residents submitted letters opposing the project being fast-tracked.

The Clippers hope to start arena construction by July 2021.
