Kendrick Nunn is expected to be ruled out for the rest of the 21-22 season due to a bone bruise in his knee.

Nunn will still undergo an MRI on the knee even though he's expected to remain out as he continues to rehab.

Nunn has missed the entire season with the injury.

Anthony Davis could return to game action as early as Friday against the New Orleans Pelicans if he doesn't have any setbacks. Davis could also return on Sunday against the Denver Nuggets.

Davis has been out since February with a foot injury.

The Los Angeles Lakers are battling to secure a spot in the play-in.

LeBron James is expected to miss Thursday's game at the Utah Jazz with an ankle injury.

Frank Vogel indicated that James is continuing to experience soreness in the ankle.

The Lakers host the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday and the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.

Anthony Davis went through his first full practice since suffering a mid-foot sprain in February.

Davis is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. 

The Los Angeles Lakers are battling for a spot in the play-in.

LeBron James injured his left ankle in the first half of the Los Angeles Lakers loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday. James stayed in and finished the game, but said after that his ankle feels "horrible".

James said he would not have stayed in the game, had it not been such an important one for the Lakers. James also said that he hopes the injury won't cause him to miss any games moving forward.

The loss dropped the Lakers to 10th in the Western Conference. Los Angeles sits one game ahead of the San Antonio Spurs for the final spot in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament.

The estate of Kobe Bryant has reached a new long-term contract with Nike to continue producing footwear and apparel from Bryant's Zoom Kobe series.

The news comes nearly a year after Kobe Bryant's initial endorsement deal with Nike expired.

"We're excited to announce our partnership with Nike is going to continue!" Vanessa Bryant wrote in an Instagram post. "I am so proud that my husband's shoes are still the most worn by players on NBA courts and that the demand for his shoes remain so desired by his fans around the world."

In addition to re-releases of the 11 signature Kobe models worn by Bryant during his career, and potentially his six post-career models as well, Nike will also be launching a new Gigi Bryant shoe series, with a charity component.

"With this new partnership, fans will soon be able to have access to Kobe and Gigi Nike product for years to come," Vanessa Bryant said. "Nike [is] donating 100% of the net proceeds yearly for Gianna's shoes to our Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation (M&MSF)."

Anthony Davis is making progress towards a potential return to the court. Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel said Davis is "coming along really well" in his rehab.

Davis recently began on-court shooting and workouts. While there is still no timetable for his return, the Lakers are hopeful Davis will play again this season.

When asked about the increasing likelihood his team will have to play in two Play-In Tournament games, Vogel said, “We’re hopeful those two games will be played with Anthony Davis.”

Quin Snyder responded to reports linking him to the head coaching positions with the Los Angeles Laker and San Antonio Spurs.

“To be honest, having to address this type of question in any form, in my view, is disrespectful to the teams that are mentioned themselves,” Snyder said. “I think specifically, these types of discussions are also disrespectful to coaches. And I love the guys that I coach. I love these players. And frankly, my focus is on our guys and our team. And as I said, addressing hypotheticals in these types of questions in any form I feel like is disrespectful. And that’s how I would characterize that.”

Snyder received a contract extension in 19-20, but it is unknown how many years he has left on his deal. Snyder, however, is not believed to be in the final season of his contract.

On Wednesday, Snyder declined to discuss his contractual status.

“I’ve never talked about my contract from day one, and I’m not going to,” he said. “That’s not something that I’m going to comment on now, nor at any point in the future. That’s not something that the Jazz have done. I personally don’t want to or believe in getting into public contract discussions.”

Darren Collison has agreed to join the South Bay Lakers of the G League.

Collison is hoping for a call-up to an NBA team as he comes out of retirement. Collison  had workouts for the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers before the 21-22 season.

Collison announced his retirement from the NBA in 2019 despite strong free agent interest.

The Los Angeles Lakers have had a disappointing season in which they could even miss the play-in, but LeBron James insists he's enjoying his time right now.

"I'm literally having the time of my life right now," James said after the Lakers finished their four-game road trip by winning two of their final three. "The game's such a beautiful thing."

James scored 38 points to go with 12 assists and 11 rebounds in Monday's win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. 

"Because I couldn't care less what the narrative about our team is," James said. "At my point in my career, I don't get involved in that stuff. I don't read about it, I don't hear it too much. ... None of that stuff matters to me, I'm having a blast playing the game of basketball."
