The Memphis Grizzlies today re-assigned guard Josh Selby to the Reno Bighorns, the Grizzlies’ NBA Development League affiliate.

This is the second assignment for Selby.

Selby returns to the Bighorns following a four-game assignment in February, when he averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 30.8 minutes. He scored more than 20 points in three games with the Bighorns, including an NBA D-League career-high 26 points on Feb. 14 against the Austin Toros.

Arenas To Sign With Grizzlies

Mar 19, 2012 6:46 PM

Gilbert Arenas worked out for the Grizzlies on Monday and will sign a contract with the club for the remainder of the season, according to sources.

Arenas hasn't played since the Magic used their amnesty provision upon him in the offseason.

The Grizzlies are thin in the backcourt, as Jeremy Pargo and Josh Selby have been inconsistent.

The Lakers were also a candidate to sign Arenas, but their need diminished following their trade for Ramon Sessions.

Grizzlies Would Be Difficult To Move From Memphis

Mar 19, 2012 1:33 PM

Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley has held talks with Larry Ellison, according to a report from the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

But Heisley doesn't anticipate making a deal with Ellison, who is the billionaire founder of Oracle. Ellison has long sought to buy an NBA team and would presumably move the team to the Bay Area.

According to a source, the only way the Grizzlies could break their lease with Memphis is if the team fails to meet certain benchmarks in attendance. The payment to break the lease this season would be $107 million and will decrease in each of the coming years.

With the Kings and Hornets agreeing to new deals with their respective cities, the Grizzlies appear to be the team most likely to be in danger of moving.
