76ers, Heat, Clippers Interested In Trading For Kyle Lowry

Feb 25, 2021 10:01 AM

The Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers have interest in trading Kyle Lowry, sources tell Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

A source says Lowry's preference is to play for the 76ers and that they might be able to get a deal done with the Toronto Raptors.

Lowry is on an expiring contract after nine seasons with the Raptors.

According to a source, the Raptors would like to reward Lowry for his years of service with the team by giving him an opportunity to compete for another title.

Lowry is a native of Philadelphia and would give the 76ers a perimeter playmaker.

The Clippers, meanwhile, would allow Lowry to reunite with Kawhi Leonard and Serge Ibaka. Lowry is also close friends with Ty Lue and Chauncey Billups.

In free agency, Lowry will seek a contract of $60 million over two years.

Heat Offered Jae Crowder One-Year Deal Above Average Annual Value Of Phoenix Contract

Feb 1, 2021 4:10 PM

Jae Crowder left the Miami Heat in the offseason to sign with the Phoenix Suns on a three-year, $30 million deal. While the Heat were attempting to preserve their 2021 cap flexibility, Crowder was seeking a multiyear contract on the open market given his age.

"I'm fairly certain the Heat offered him more than that $9 million number on a one-year deal," said Brian Windhorst. "I know they offered him more than $9 million on a one-year deal. They tried to do the same thing they did with Dragic and Meyers Leonard, which is 'let's find a number where you're comfortable taking just one year.'

"Jae was like, 'At this point in my career, I need a multi-year contract.'"

Crowder signed a five-year, $35 million contract with the Boston Celtics in 2015, which became one of the NBA's best bargains during the lifespan of the deal. Crowder was traded four times on the deal from Boston to Cleveland to Utah to Memphis to Miami.

The Heat have appeared to miss Crowder to start the season as they've struggled to regain the form they displayed during the playoffs.
