Villanueva Doesn't See Himself In Milwaukee Long-Term

Jan 30, 2008 4:54 PM

Charlie Villanueva addressed his status in Milwaukee in a blog post on Wednesday.

"There have been countless trade rumors involving me going around with the trade deadline date (Feb. 21) right around the corner," wrote Villanueva.  "I?ve read or heard a number of teams expressing interests such as New York, Houston, Cleveland, New Jersey, Miami, and as of late Golden State. Listen, I?m a strong believer that everything happens for a reason and also value that it is a privilege to play in the NBA, not a right. It?s a blessing that comes with at time some serious business decisions. So whatever God has planned for me, I will accept the challenge and continue to play the game at 110%."

"Looking at my situation overall, I ask myself at times, do I see myself here long-term," Villanueva asked. "I must say the answer to that question doesn?t sit to comfortable with me. I don?t know what the future holds. Anything can happen in this business. I would really like to make Milwaukee a part of my future, but it doesn?t seem realistic at this point in time unless something changes. The moves made by management in the last few months indicate to me that I?m not as important as I once was to this team. I?m not completely sold on my role with the Milwaukee Bucks."

Bucks' General Manager Larry Harris told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Friday that he is disappointed with the team's current 17-27 record.

"I'm disappointed with our record, where it's at," Harris told the Journal Sentinel, "because we've played so many close games and we haven't been able to close those out."

"We've been in a number of those games and really haven't come out on the positive side of that."

Despite their current record, Harris is still optimistic about Milwaukee's chances at making the playoffs.

Bucks Assign Noel To Tulsa 66ers

Jan 20, 2008 3:24 PM

The Milwaukee Bucks have assigned guard/forward David Noel to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Tulsa 66ers, Bucks General Manager Larry Harris announced Sunday.

The 6-6, 230-pound guard/forward is currently in his second season with the Bucks, and has appeared in five games during the 2007-08 preseason, where he averaged 4.6 points and 3.0 rebounds in 20.6 minutes per game before suffering a wrist injury. Noel has not appeared in a regular season game this season. During his rookie season with the Bucks, Noel appeared in 68 games and averaged 2.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists.

?This is an opportunity for David to see regular minutes in game conditions that he wouldn't necessarily receive in Milwaukee,? said Harris. ?We are encouraged with how well Ramon has performed in Tulsa and are looking forward to seeing David's continued progress in the D-League, too.?

The 39th overall selection in the 2006 NBA Draft, Noel was a four year product of North Carolina, and finished his career as a Tar Heel with 880 points, 549 rebounds, 247 assists, 137 steals and 60 blocks.
