Kukoc: Bucks Need Team Focus

Sep 29, 2008 6:38 AM

Toni Kukoc believes that his former club needs to play better team basketball in order to make the playoffs.

He played four seasons with the Bucks before retiring in 2006, and won three NBA championships with the Bulls early in his career.

"They did so many changes again," Kukoc said of Milwaukee. "They do the changes every year. As much as the some people (players) are not going to like it, it?s on the leaders to turn the team. When your leadership makes it a, 'OK, let?s play as a team,' then everybody else follows.

"To me, that?s always been a key," Kukoc added, "to any team sport."

Bucks Unveil Alternate Road Uniform

Sep 24, 2008 6:41 AM

The Milwaukee Bucks have unveiled a new red alternate road uniform, revealed the team's official website.

The alternate road uniform, to be worn for the first time at the team?s home opener on Saturday, November 1, is inspired by the Bucks' 1971 NBA Championship season uniforms.

The alternate jersey will be worn as many as 15 times and utilize the same classic trim, waistband, and short taping as the title team but with a unique reversal of the original color scheme. All of the colors have been revised with Bucks' deep red serving as the body of the uniform, replacing forest green. In addition, the Bucks' new word mark and number font, introduced in 2006 as part of a new logo and uniform launch, are utilized.

Villaneuva Says This Season Will Be Different

Sep 19, 2008 10:05 AM

With Yi Jianlian now in New Jersey, Bucks' forward Charlie Villaneuva believes that 2008-2009 will be different for him, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is reporting.

Villaneuva thought that it would be him, not Yi, who would be packing his bags after last season, especially considering the hype surrounding the Chinese forward.

?It?s funny how things work,? Villanueva said Thursday. ?When the season was over, I had my doubts. I didn?t think I was going to be back."

?I hate to make excuses, but now I?m clear-minded. I already know what to expect. It (the situation last season) was very hard. I was very frustrated at times, my minutes being inconsistent. But that?s the past; it?s over with. It was a learning experience.?

Jefferson: I Was Frustrated After Trade

Sep 12, 2008 4:11 PM

Bucks' forward Richard Jefferson admitted recently that he was in fact frustrated by the trade that sent him from New Jersey to Milwaukee, according to Sports Illustrated.

"You know, I was frustrated," said Jefferson. "But now I'm excited. People misconstrued that I was unhappy going to Milwaukee. Man, I was unhappy about leaving the only team I had been a part of. I was the last one standing from the team that went to the Finals, the guys that won three straight division championships, the guys that made the Nets respectable -- and respectable for a long time. I didn't want to go. But it wasn't about Milwaukee."

Jefferson also claims that he understands why the Nets decided to trade him.

"The organization is trying to cut costs," said Jefferson. "When you are a part of an organization for seven years, you hear about things on the business side. You hear that they might want to go in a different direction."

Redd: Cavs Fans Will Like Williams

Sep 8, 2008 9:59 AM

Bucks' guard Michael Redd loves the game of former teammate Mo Williams and says that fans in Cleveland are going to love the point guard, according to Canton Rep.

"I've seen Mo develop and mature to the player he is now," Redd said. "And he's getting better. You hate to see him leave, but it's like, 'Oh, well, it's part of the business.' "

The Bucks sent Williams to the Cavaliers in a six-player deal that also involved the Thunder.

"He can score. He can make his own shot, create his own shot, get assists, and get the team involved. He's a good pickup for them," Redd added.
