Jennings To Sit Out For First Time In Career

Dec 20, 2010 8:04 AM

Brandon Jennings won't play against Portland on Monday night.

Jennings has played in and started 107 consecutive games, all 82 in his rookie season and 25 this year.

He injured his left foot in an awkward spill last Wednesday against San Antonio and played 30 painful minutes in the team's loss to Utah on Saturday.

"It's really tough for me right now, just the fact I can't be on the court playing," Jennings said. "When you're not injured, you're not really thinking about it."

It's possible he could be out longer after an MRI on the left foot.

"I never want to get hurt; I never want to be the one that has to miss games," Jennings said. "I tried to get the Brett Favre streak going. I tried to play as long as I can without missing a game.

"Unfortunately, it's got to come to an end."

If There's A Lockout, Jennings Still Open To Europe

Dec 14, 2010 4:24 PM

Brandon Jennings is willing to return to Europe, where his professional career started, if there is no 2011-12 season in the NBA because of a lockout.

Jennings went Italy straight out of high school to play for a season before entering the NBA Draft.

"I'm sure my value will be higher than it was before, the first time I went over there," Jennings told NBA.com. "I'm sure this time I'll get some playing time. The will be the best thing, I'll be able to play now, make a little money and keep some income coming in for my family."

Players are within their rights to work and therefore play in another league, regardless of their current contract status with NBA teams, in the event of a lockout.

Wednesday marks the unofficial start of the NBA's trading season as players that signed free-agent deals this past summer can be dealt as of Dec. 15.

David Aldridge of NBA.com is reporting that general managers around the league believe the Bucks will look to shad salary after making significant commitments to Drew Gooden (five years, $32 million) and John Salmons (five years, $39 million) this summer.

Milwaukee general manager John Hammond insisted last week that the Bucks, 9-13, will be fine once they get healthy.
