Bucks Trying To Trade Drew Gooden

Nov 26, 2012 11:59 AM

The Milwaukee Bucks continue to offer Drew Gooden in trade talks with teams around the NBA, according to sources.

Gooden is owed $6.68 million for this season and the two following seasons.

Gooden hasn't played yet this season, but has had a positive attitude throughout and has also been mentoring the younger players, especially Larry Sanders.

“I’m not a selfish person and I’m not a selfish teammate,” Gooden said. “I’ll do whatever I can to help the team. Right now, I’m trying to help the team vocally in any way I can.”

Ilyasova Unable To Explain Shooting, Rebounding Struggles

Nov 23, 2012 10:39 AM

Ersan Ilyasova has has struggled with his shot percentage and rebound totals through the first 10 games of the season.

"It's hard to explain," Ilyasova said. "Sometimes those things happen. You just try to fight through it and find a way, just help my teammates any way I can."

Ilyasova is shooting 31.3 percent from the floor and averaging 4.7 rebounds this season.

"The main thing is I can't find my rhythm yet," Ilyasova said. "We've got a lot of big guys. Coach has tried a lot of rotations. It's not the same as it was last year.

"We had just three or four guys last year and we knew our minutes. It was kind of stable."

Bucks Playing At NBA's Highest Pace

Nov 16, 2012 10:36 AM

The Milwaukee Bucks have begun to change their offensive philosophy, playing a more uptempo style.

With the quickness of Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis, it is logical for Scott Skiles to give the offense more freedom.

“We talked about doing this when I came here last season, but we never really did it,” Ellis said. “The last two games we’ve been doing it. And we should.

“We have two of the best at doing this (he and fellow guard Brandon Jennings). When we get out there (in the open court), we’re not easy to guard.”

The Bucks lead the NBA in pace at 95.9 and are just below the league average in points per 100 possessions at 102.9.

Last season, the Bucks were third in pace.

Drew Gooden Feeling Healthy, Unconcerned About Inactives

Nov 11, 2012 6:27 PM

MILWAUKEE – After two straight injury-plagued seasons, Drew Gooden is confident that his health is strong and is the best it has been in his time with the Bucks. He’s been listed inactive over the past two games, but for now, he hasn’t broached the topic with coaches and doesn’t plan on doing so.

“I’m doing great,” Gooden told RealGM on Saturday night. “I feel this is the healthiest I’ve been in quite some time.”

Gooden has remained positive in the locker room and vocal while sitting on the bench. Even though he’s playing with his ninth team in 11 seasons, he had a wide smile when talking about the experiences his NBA career has provided: He’s played alongside superstars like Tracy McGrady, LeBron James, Derrick Rose, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki and Blake Griffin, and has been coached by Doc Rivers, Hubie Brown, Mike Brown, Gregg Popovich and Rick Carlisle.

“Whatever situation I was in, I’ve made the best of it and I still went out and gave you 12 [points] and eight [rebounds],” Gooden said. “Whether it was off the bench or starting, I did something for the team. So that is something that’s been rewarding to me: I’ve been able to be the same player in all those different situations.

“But also, I get to have conversations about Derrick Rose. I get to have conversations about Dirk Nowitzki. I get to have conversations about Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, Blake Griffin. The list goes on and on with the No. 1 picks and stars and Hall of Famers I’ve played with, and coaches.”
