Larry Sanders Embracing New Bucks' Culture Under Kidd

Nov 28, 2014 1:42 PM

Larry Sanders has found his game again to start this season with Jason Kidd as head coach.

"It was being patient with myself," Sanders said. "I think some guys get down. You can't get too high or get too low.

"It's just finding your pace again. But Coach (Kidd) has been great, my teammates have been great with me and I'm just trying to play off of them."

Kidd and his staff made Sanders a centerpiece of their efforts from the beginning, working with him in Las Vegas during the summer and continuing during training camp.

"They came in and changed the culture; the (new) owners came in and changed the culture," Sanders said. "It's a whole different mind-set than I've ever had.

"We're really trying to build something new here and you could feel it. I'm just happy to be a part of it."

Giannis Becoming More Comfortable At Power Forward

Nov 12, 2014 11:57 AM

Giannis Antetokounmpo played at power forward for a second straight game and was matched up against Serge Ibaka.

Antetokounmpo finished with 14 points and nine rebounds in 26 minutes.

"So far I like it," the 19-year-old said. "He (Ibaka) was quicker, more athletic than (Zach) Randolph.

"It was harder to go through him, but OK. Ibaka is Ibaka. He's one of the best defenders in the league. There aren't a lot of guys like him."

Bucks Encouraged By Progress Of Giannis In Small-Ball Power Forward Role

Nov 10, 2014 10:57 AM

The Milwaukee Bucks have used Giannis Antetokounmpo as a small-ball power forward this season off the bench and he really showed his development in his 22 point, 14 rebound game on Saturday against the Memphis Grizzlies while also defending Zach Randolph.

"We played through Giannis, and he didn't settle," said Jason Kidd. "He was getting the ball in the paint and was able to finish. You could see his growth coming along."

"He's such a skilled player," Larry Sanders said. "He's only just scratching the surface of how good he's going to be. He's just tapping into new abilities and trying on new things. He's really learning about himself and it's amazing to watch."

Antetokounmpo has talked about how his summer league experience boosted his confidence, while he also played some point guard and shooting guard in the preseason.

Prokhorov On Kidd: Don't Let The Door Hit You Where The Good Lord Split You

Nov 3, 2014 7:53 PM

Mikhail Prokhorov spoke to the media for the first time in nearly a year on Monday and addressed the departure of Jason Kidd from the Brooklyn Nets this past offseason.

“There is a nice proverb in English,” Prokhorov said. “Don’t let the door hit you where the Good Lord has split you.”

Kidd left the Nets to join the Milwaukee Bucks after reportedly seeking more power with the Nets.

“I think each side did what they thought was the best, and I like what we have now. I think our structure is optimal. We have a very strong, experienced coach, and a very strong GM in Billy King.”

Kidd led the Nets to a first round win over the Toronto Raptors in his lone season with the Nets.

“I think we shouldn’t get mad, I think we should get even,” Prokhorov added. “And we’ll see it on the court.”
