The New York Knicks will attempt to trade for a second round draft pick by purchasing a selection.

Phil Jackson cited the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers are possible trade targets because those teams own multiple picks in the draft.

Jackson said the Knicks will not get in "a bidding war."

“Teams do sell draft picks," Jackson said. "If teams are willing to allow us to buy a draft pick for a player we want to have at a position, we’ll do it.’’

The Cleveland Cavaliers have won the NBA Lottery for the third time in four seasons.

Chad Ford of ESPN wrote before the lottery announcement that the Cavaliers would likely take Jabari Parker with the first overall pick if they won the lottery, but a source told him afterwards that Andrew Wiggins is the preferred pick. DraftExpress also has Wiggins as the top pick in their post-lottery mock.

The Milwaukee Bucks' sale to hedge fund billionaires Wesley Edens and Marc Lasry is expected to be finalized on Thursday.

There was a push to have an extra thorough vetting process of new owners following the Donald Sterling scandal, according to sources. But that process is complete with Edens and Lasry and the Board of Governors will approve the transactions.

In a unique part of the sales contract, the NBA has the right to buy the Bucks back from Edens and Lasry for $575 million if a new arena isn't finalized by 2017, when the Bucks' current lease is up.

The Milwaukee Bucks worked out Ben Brust, Jake Thomas, Mike Moser and Taylor Braun on Friday.

Brust, Thomas, Moser and Braun are prospects for the June NBA Draft.

Brandon Knight was asked about his preference for the Milwaukee Bucks' top draft pick in June, which could be the No. 1 overall selection.

Knight said he is not picky about the pick but wants the player to have a strong work ethic and be cognizant of the Bucks' 15-67 campaign.

"That's a tough question," Knight said Wednesday on Sirius XM Radio's "NBA Today" show. "That's for our team to decide. I just want a guy, whoever he is, to come in and work hard and understand the type of year we had last year.

"He wasn't a part of it, but understand we can't repeat that type of season and that none of the guys here will be in a mood where that will be repeated. Our mind-set is going to be totally different. We're going to approach the game differently. We're going to remember how this year went for us and use it as motivation."
