Joel Embiid Tried To Recruit Giannis Antetokounmpo To 76ers At All-Star

Feb 22, 2018 5:45 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo revealed that Joel Embiid attempted to recruit him to the Philadelphia 76ers during All-Star weekend.

Antetokounmpo and Embiid were teammates on Team Stephen.

"He told me I should trust the process and come play for Philly," Antetokounmpo said with a chuckle, drawing a laugh. "That was my reaction — I just laughed.”

The 76ers selected Michael Carter-Williams ahead of Antetokounmpo in 2013.

Antetokounmpo cannot become a free agent until 2021.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Can't See Himself Playing In Los Angeles

Feb 22, 2018 5:42 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo talked about how he enjoys the comfort of playing in Milwaukee after spending a few days in Los Angeles for the All-Star Game.

“I could never see myself being out there," Antetokounmpo said. "It’s great for two, three days but it’s a little bit — things are going a little bit crazy.

"Of course, because of the All-Star Game, there was a lot of people there. … In Milwaukee — I love Milwaukee — it’s low-key. I can walk down the road, down the streets without anybody bugging me — nobody interrupts my conversation or anything. I love how quiet and calm Milwaukee is.”

Antetokounmpo was playing in his second All-Star Game.

“Oh yeah, I was definitely better prepared," he said. "I didn’t do much stuff. I talked with my people and people around me that helped me with the all-star arrangement. I told them that I didn’t want to do much this year because I want to take care of my body.

"My first year I did a lot. I couldn’t even rest, I was really, really exhausted. But I think this year I did a better job just arranging the stuff I did.”

Antetokounmpo cannot become a free agent until 2021 and he's likely to be eligible for a designated veteran player extension before then.

Jabari Parker 'Felt Great' In Return From ACL Injury

Feb 3, 2018 11:37 AM

Jabari Parker played in his first game on Friday since tearing his left ACL for the second time in his career on Feb. 8, 2017.

Parker had 12 points in 15 minutes.

"It felt great," Parker said. "But honestly, training myself to think about it as just getting better. It's not going to take just one game, a few games, just the whole process. That game didn't really stick out as much as people perceive it to be."

The Bucks are optimistic that Parker can pair up with Giannis Antetokounmpo down the stretch of the season.

"It was a great feeling," Antetokounmpo said of seeing Parker on the floor. "Everybody was really excited about JP coming back tonight. Most importantly, he was just playing, having fun. It's just great to see him out there competing with us again."

Bucks Prepared Three-Year, $54M Extension Offer To Jabari Parker

Feb 1, 2018 11:15 AM

The Milwaukee Bucks were prepared to offer Jabari Parker a three-year, $54 million extension before the start of the season.

Parker sees himself as a max player and talks didn't lead anywhere even as he was recovering from the second torn ACL in his career.

Milwaukee's upper limit in annual salary was about $18 million per season.

Parker is set to return this week from his injury and will have suitors in free agency if he proves himself to be healthy.
