Bucks Sign Mamadi Diakite To Multi-Year Deal, Add Justin Jackson On Two-Way

Apr 21, 2021 11:21 AM

Mamadi Diakite has been signed by the Milwaukee Bucks on a multi-year deal after previously being on a Two-Way contract.

The Bucks signed Justin Jackson to fill Diakite's Two-Way slot. Milwaukee now has a full roster.

Diakite went undrafted out of Virginia.

“I have more to prove, I have more to give to the team and I have more to show to the fans,” Diakite told the Journal Sentinel. “Them doing this shows me that they trust me in many ways, but I still have work to do. I’m someone who always got it out of the mud and I’ll keep fighting my way through that.”

Diakite has played in 11 games (2.5 points, 2.3 rebounds) since the All-Star break.

“I was able to show a lot of my abilities I wasn’t able to show early in my career, but also knowing what’s my place on the team - what can I do in order to help the team go forward when I come back?” he said. “So those little areas that I needed to improve, I thankfully improved those.”

Jrue Holiday's Extension Has $20.9M In 'Unlikely Bonuses'

Apr 5, 2021 11:51 AM

Jrue Holiday signed a four-year, $160 million extension with the Milwaukee Bucks over the weekend, but sources tell The Athletic that the deal contains approximately $25 million in bonuses.

Out of the $25 million, $20.9 million are deemed unlikely bonuses with $4.1 million deemed likely.

When taking the non-guaranteed money off the total, the guaranteed salary counts for approximately $135 million through the 24-25 season. Holiday secured a 120 percent raise from his $25.1 million base salary from this past season.

Holiday could have signed a four-year, $169.6 million contract with another team had he waiting for free agency, or approximately $228 million over five years with the Bucks.
