Love Feeling Healthy For First Time In 12-13

Dec 29, 2012 5:52 PM

Kevin Love said on Saturday that his body has felt as good as it has all season over the past couple days and he’s looking forward to rebounding from his difficult game against the Rockets on Wednesday.

“It’s fun to actually have my body feel good out there,” Love said. “And it has the last couple days.”

Love broke two bones in his right hand before the start of season. He has also suffered from the flu, back pain and a poke in the eye.

“But I have to look at it like 2013 is right around the corner,” Love said. “And every game is a new day, a new time to improve the team, improve myself, and keep pushing through this.”

Brandon Roy Could Return Saturday

Dec 28, 2012 11:23 AM

Brandon Roy was a full participant in Thursday's practice with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Roy intends to practice again on Friday and possibly return to game action for the first time since Nov. 9 on Saturday.

"If everything feels good, I'll talk to Coach and see if Saturday is the day," said Roy.

Roy did 5-on-5 halfcourt work on Thursday and will scrimmage on Friday.

Roy underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee five weeks ago.

"These two days are good for me," Roy said. "Today was a good day, so going again tomorrow will just give me the confidence and reassurance that I can go out there and play in the game."

Mickael Gelabale Reaches Out To NBA Teams For Potential Return

Dec 21, 2012 9:54 PM

In an effort to return to the NBA, Mickael Gelabale has informed all 30 teams about his interest in signing with an organization between now and Jan. 30, agent Bill McCandless told RealGM on Friday afternoon.

Gelabale’s agency reached out to all teams through email, and it is confident that someone will seriously consider acquiring Gelabale in January.

“He’s better than [Chris] Douglas-Roberts or any D-Leaguer in my opinion,” McCandless said.

After his contract with Croatian club Cedevita ended late last week, Gelabale moved to Valencia of the ACB – where he holds an opt-out clause to leave to the NBA by Jan. 30.

Gelabale, whose offensive efficiency ranks second in the EuroLeague, scored 11 points in 22 minutes in his first game with Valencia against Real Madrid. At 6-foot-7, Gelabale also provides defensive versatility.

The Minnesota Timberwolves could pursue Gelabale, but they are not likely to sign a wing player until after Dec. 25, a league source said.

Gelabale, 29, spent two seasons with the Seattle SuperSonics after being selected in the second round of the 2005 NBA draft, averaging 4.5 points on 45 percent shooting in 109 games.

Howard was signed in mid-November to give the Timberwolves depth at the wing, as the team has gone through a myriad of injuries this season.

Howard, 32, averaged 6.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in 11 games with Minnesota.

Love Hears Trash Talk From Wolves' Fans, Shoots 3-For-17

Dec 13, 2012 4:12 PM

In Kevin Love's first game since criticizing owner Glen Taylor and general manager David Kahn, there were scatterings of boos and trash talk from fans of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Love responded with an uncharacteristically poor shooting performance of 3-for-17.

"I was ready for anything," Love said. "I heard some things. I'm not going sit here and call people ignorant or anything like that. Everybody takes a stance on something."

Love Didn't Intend To Alienate Anyone With Comments To Wojnarowski

Dec 12, 2012 12:49 PM

Kevin Love doesn't regret comments that he gave to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski in an interview, but he said a lot of positive things were said as well.

"I would love to end my career here," said Love.

Love already spoke to David Kahn about the comments and also plans to speak with Glen Taylor.

Love admits that the timing of the comments was poor.

"I said how I felt. I didn't mean to alienate my team, my coaches, the organization or more importantly the fans."
