Jimmy Butler On Sixers' Season: 'We Can Do Something Special'

Mar 31, 2019 7:38 PM

Jimmy Butler said that the Philadelphia 76ers were locked in following their win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night.

“We can do something special. We talk about it every single day. Everything we do, we’re locked in, focused. We know what we can do. We know what paper says we can do. We know what people expect us to do. Name it. We got to be the ones to go out there and do it. And the crazy thing is, I know that we’re capable of doing it,” said Butler.

Butler added that there was no lingering animosity between him and the Timberwolves' organization.

“It’s basketball, bruh. I’ve still got a pretty decent relationship with a lot of guys over there. I don’t think nobody is going to take nothing personal. I’m cool with that. I’m a 76er right now, and we’re going to take it that way moving forward. I wish everybody the best of luck. I wish everybody the best of health. It is what it is.”

Teague has missed the last four games after reaggravating a left foot injury, originally suffered in December. On Tuesday, Teague received an injection designed to treat chronic inflammation. He will wear a boot and is scheduled to be reevaluated in approximately three weeks. He is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Mar 13, 2019 7:28 PM

Karl-Anthony Towns is not interested in shutting it down at some point this season as the Minnesota Timberwolves' playoff hopes evaporate.

"I can't do that," said Towns. "I've got too much pride in playing. I've got too much pride in being on the court with my guys. If (fans) worry about me getting hurt, I was much more hurt last year. I'm not too worried about that. This ain't nothin."

Towns will receive an additional $32 million on his contract extension if he makes one of the All-NBA teams this season.

Russell Westbrook Tells Karl-Anthony Towns To Make Playoffs Before Talking Trash

Mar 7, 2019 7:37 AM

Karl-Anthony Towns stated that he's been focusing on playing more aggressively following his 41-point performance in a 131-120 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

“I’m trying to find ways to be aggressive, more aggressive than I’ve been all season. Just finding ways to unleash another part of myself that I’ve not done since I’ve been in the league," said Towns.

That aggressiveness includes talking trash, which Russell Westbrook did not appreciate.

“Get to the f----- playoffs before you speak to me,” Westbrook told Towns during the game.
