Charles Barkley has obviously done wonders for the Turner Networks. Why isn't NBC falling over themselves to get Jayson Williams in studio? Think he might be an upgrade over Kevin Johnson or P.J. Carlesimo?
Williams, a close friend of Keith Van Horn, had some great quotes about the Kidd for Marbury trade:
"[Van Horn is] fly fishing [in Utah], which he's been doing for four years and he still doesn't have one fish. He's like Yinka [Dare] with assists."
"But I'll tell you this and I guarantee it: Keith and Jason Kidd will be the best one-two punch in the Metropolitan area. Hear that, Knicks?"
"When I heard they got him [Kidd], I called some lawyers about my comeback." (in a joking tone)
"He [Kidd] ain't used to our weather. He's a California kid and not even [Net owners] have enough money to get the sun to follow him around,"
Jason Kidd intimates in a weird fashion that Jerry Colangelo didn't really support him after his arrest. He states the obvious: "I guess the bad boys are leaving town", referring to himself and Cliff Robinson. He also uses the obscure: "The handshake in the desert wind might not be for real." Say what Jason? Is that some kind of Bedouin curse or what? Kidd's wife gets her hyperbole going pretty good, too, telling us that even the former President of the United States can't compare to her husband. Uh, Mrs. K., that's not really such a compliment.
