- The draft rights to Marcus Thornton was acquired by the New Orleans Pelicans from the Miami Heat in exchange for: a 2010 2nd round pick (NOP own) and a 2012 2nd round pick (NOP own).
- The New Orleans Hornets selected Darren Collison in Round 1 with Pick 21 in the 2009 NBA Draft.
