Earl Barron is receiving interest from the New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers, New Orleans Pelicans and Philadelphia 76ers.

Barron finished last season as a late addition to the Knicks.

Barron went undrafted out of Memphis in 2003 and has appeared with several NBA teams in addition to overseas teams in Puerto Rico, Italy and the Philippines.

Josh Powell will work out for the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday, according to a source.

Powell has played sevens seasons in the NBA and won two championships with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Powell last played in the NBA in 2010-11 with the Atlanta Hawks.

Arinze Onuaku has agreed to sign a two-year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to a source.

The deal is non-guaranteed for next season, with a team option in 2014-15.

Onuaku went undrafted in the 2010 NBA draft.

Lance Thomas will re-sign with the New Orleans Pelicans on a two-year contract that is partially guaranteed in the first season, a league source told RealGM.

The Pelicans hold a team option on the second year of Thomas' new deal. 

Thomas has played both of his NBA seasons for New Orleans, and the 25-year-old forward averaged 2.5 points and 1.9 rebounds a year ago. 

RealGM first reported on Aug. 8 that Thomas was nearing a likely deal with the Pelicans.

Josh Childress is working out with the New Orleans Pelicans this week.

A report from Shams Charania of RealGM in July indicated that Childress had narrowed his interest to three NBA teams.

Gia Allemand, girlfriend of Ryan Anderson, has passed away at the age of 29.

Allemand had been hospitalized in New Orleans since Monday and had been placed on life support. Anderson was at her side when she passed away.

Allemand was a model that appeared on The Bachelor.

Anderson met Allemand in 2011.

"Not only was it love at first sight but it seemed like a touch of destiny. We now both live in Orlando and couldn't be happier," Allemand said in 2011.

The AP is reporting that Allemand attempted to commit suicide. TMZ reported that Anderson found her hanging and unconscious in their home and immediately called 911.

Free agent Lance Thomas is nearing a likely deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, a league source told RealGM.

Thomas and the Pelicans are still finalizing terms for his return, but there’s strong belief that he will be with the organization into training camp. The Indiana Pacers also are expressing interest in Thomas, a source said.

A 6-foot-8 forward out of Duke, Thomas, 25, averaged 2.5 points and 1.9 rebounds last season for New Orleans.

Greg Oden will decide on his next NBA team on Friday, according to a source.

The Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, New Orleans Pelicans, San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks are in the mix for Oden.

Oden has not played in an NBA game since late 2009 but has appeared intriguing in workouts recently.
