The New Orleans Pelicans have no interest in trading Jrue Holiday this offseason.

The Pelicans are expected to trade Anthony Davis, which has put the future of Holiday with the franchise in doubt as they're about to embark on a probable rebuild.

Jayson Tatum: Being Traded Is Part Of The Game, I'll Play For Whomever

Apr 17, 2019 6:03 PM

Jayson Tatum had a disappointing second regular season in the NBA in which shooting efficiency dropped. Tatum has also been mentioned in trade rumors involving Anthony Davis once the Boston Celtics can trade for him this offseason.

“Trade rumors don’t bother me,” Tatum said of trade rumors. “They’re talking about trading me for guys like Anthony Davis. So, I mean, I must be doing something pretty well.” When pressed on whether this bothered him, he didn’t budge: “I love the game of basketball. Being traded is part of the game. I’ll play for whomever. It’s something I can’t control.”

“Circumstances don’t affect him,” Brad Stevens said. “First game of the season, he’s unaffected by the jitters that everybody has. Seventh game of a playoff series? Unaffected. At least, he shows himself to be unaffected, and he can thrive in that environment.”

Tatum also revealed he has a poster of himself dunking on LeBron James in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

“I’ve got a big-ass picture of it in my house,” Tatum said.

The Celtics ultimately lost the game as the Cleveland Cavaliers advanced to The Finals.

Apr 13, 2019 7:59 PM

The New Orleans Pelicans cut out Rob Pelinka and preferred to deal directly with Magic Johnson as they negotiated a deal for Anthony Davis around the trade deadline.

Alvin Gentry referred to the fallout from the Davis negotiations as the most toxic situation he's seen in 31 years, with Jeanie Buss describing rumors related to the trade as "fake news."

With Johnson stepping down from the Lakers, Pelinka fired Luke Walton and is currently in charge of finding a new head coach.

Anthony Davis Waiting For New Pelicans GM, Raises Possibility Of Returning To Team Next Season

Apr 10, 2019 8:54 PM

During a press conference to close out the season, Anthony Davis raised the possibility of returning to the New Orleans Pelicans next season.

"I'm under contract still. I have a year left. Obviously it's a possibility it could happen. I don't have ill will towards anybody. I know that it's a possibility that next year I could be here as well. So I can't be mad if I'm here next year," said Davis.

Davis added that he's waiting for the team to fill their vacant general manager position.

"Seeing what happens. Seeing who the Pelicans make their GM and having a conversation with that person about the future. My time here has always been great. I love playing here. It's something that I will definitely hold in my heart forever, but the next step is waiting on the Pelicans [to fill] that GM job."

Alvin Gentry: Anthony Davis Is Good Kid Who 'Got Some Bad Advice'

Apr 10, 2019 1:37 AM

Alvin Gentry reflected upon the turmoil surrounding the New Orleans Pelicans following their 112-103 loss to the Golden State Warriors in their season finale.

Gentry said he had never seen the level of toxicity that followed the Pelicans and Lakers after the non-trade for Anthony Davis.

"Not this toxic, no. Not that affected two teams. And two guys. One lost his job and the other one resigned from his job. So no, in 31 years I hadn't had anything that would equal this kind of fallout. No, I haven't," said Gentry.

Gentry added that Davis was a good person who received some bad advice, although he didn't specify from whom.

"I think he's a great kid. I think he's a very good kid. I think he's a solid guy. ... I think he got some bad advice. You know me to just tell the truth. I'll leave it at that. But there's nothing wrong with AD. He's a good solid guy with good character. That's the way I feel," added Gentry.
