Pelicans Remain Interested In Trading For John Collins

Jan 28, 2023 7:38 AM

The New Orleans Pelicans remain interested in trading for John Collins of the Atlanta Hawks. The two sides are seen as good partners, as New Orleans could send defensive-minded players to Atlanta, as the Hawks look to balance offense and defense on their roster.

The Pelicans have been gauging interest in Devonte' Graham, Jaxson Hayes and Naji Marshall around the NBA. New Orleans is willing to move them as a group or as individuals. Graham still has two years and $24.7 million left on his deal after this one, but the final season only carries a light guarantee. Hayes can be made a restricted free agent this summer, while Marshall's minimum deal carries a team option for next season.

Atlanta reportedly is talking Collins trades with several teams, but they have no mandate that they must move him and the $78.5 million he is owed for the three seasons after this one. If the Hawks can't find a deal they like for the talented power forward, they are prepared to keep Collins for at least the rest of this season.

Brandon Ingram To Return On Wednesday

Jan 25, 2023 9:43 AM

Brandon Ingram is finally set to make his long-awaited return to the New Orleans Pelicans lineup. After missing nearly two months due to a left big toe injury, Ingram will return on Wednesday night when New Orleans hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Pelicans have gone 15-14 without Ingram in the lineup. That includes New Orleans current five-game losing streak.

Ingram's return comes a day after the Pelicans announced that Zion Williamson would be out at least two more weeks with a hamstring injury. The Pelicans have also dealt with injuries to several other rotation players while Ingram and Williamson have been out.

Ingram has appeared in only 15 games this season, but has played great when he's been in the lineup. The seventh-year wing has averaged 20.8 points on 47/47/87 shooting splits this season.

Lakers, Pelicans, Bucks, Cavs, Mavs Interested In Bojan Bogdanovic

Jan 17, 2023 10:12 AM

The Detroit Pistons have told teams they don't really want to trade Bojan Bogdanovic. But opposing teams feel an offer of unprotected first-round pick could change the Pistons minds.

The Los Angeles Lakers, New Orlean Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks have all expressed interest in trading for Bogdanovic. All have needs for additional wing depth and perimeter scoring.

Bogdanovic is putting together a career-year, as he's averaging 21.2 points per game. The eight-year veteran is shooting 48.7% from the floor, including 41.5% on three-pointers. Bogdanovic is also getting to the free throw line a career-best 5.2 times per game and knocking down 88.5% of his free throws.

After being acquired from the Utah Jazz before the season, Bogdanovic signed a two-year contract extension worth $39 million. Next season is fully guaranteed at $20 million, while only $2 million of Bogdanovic's $19 million deal is guaranteed for the 2024-25 season.
