Knicks Omit Carmelo Anthony From Promotional Materials

Aug 25, 2017 1:28 PM

The New York Knicks are omitting Carmelo Anthony from their promotional materials for the 17-18 season.

Anthony has been on the trade block for months and they are in a stalemate with the Houston Rockets.

Frank Ntilikina, Kristaps Porzingis and Willy Hernangomez made the cut in the photo, which also included the phrase “New York Forever.”

Anthony has two years left on his five-year, $124 million contract, which includes an opt-out clause after the 17-18 season.

Knicks Interested In Jarrett Jack, Archie Goodwin

Aug 23, 2017 6:12 PM

The New York Knicks have interest in Jarrett Jack and Archie Goodwin in free agency.

The Knicks are thin at point guard following the departure of Derrick Rose and the draft selection of Frank Ntilikina.

Jack would give the Knicks a veteran point guard both on the floor and in the locker room, while Goodwin still has potential and is familiar with Jeff Hornacek.

Jack played briefly last season with the New Orleans Pelicans following his return from a torn ACL, but his season ended with a right lateral meniscus tear.

Michael Beasley: I've Always Been A Walking Bucket

Aug 18, 2017 10:08 PM

Michael Beasley calls himself “a walking bucket’’ and thinks he’ll score a lot of them at Madison Square Garden because he’s “always done well with pressure.’’

Beasley spent last season with the Milwaukee Bucks and signed with the New York Knicks this offseason on a one-year, $2.1 million deal.

“I’ll bring what they saw in college,’’ Beasley told The Post in a robust phone interview Friday from his home in Washington D.C. “ I just need the opportunity to show that. Look at my nine-year career, I’ve always been close to a point a minute. I’ve always been a walking bucket. Nobody can stop me, hasn’t stopped me my last nine years. Every time I’ve touched the ball, the defender’s scared. I’m at the point of my career I’m just tired of not getting the acknowledgement of being who I am.

“I’ve always been the quiet, not-stand-up-for-myself-kind-of-guy. Not being disrespectful. But I want my respect. For the last nine years, I’ve been a walking bucket, man. Anytime you want a point, I’ll give you a point, no matter what the circumstances, who the player is defending me.’’

Kristaps Porzingis Emerges As Cavaliers' Primary Trade Target

Aug 15, 2017 10:08 AM

Kristaps Porzingis has emerged as the Cleveland Cavaliers' primary target in Kyrie Irving trade discussions.

Porzingis would give the Cavaliers a young star who could also help them immediately as he enters his third NBA season.

The Cavaliers would need to take on the three seasons and $55 million remaining on the contract of Joakim Noah in order to begin a conversation with the New York Knicks.

During Phil Jackson's final days as president of the Knicks, he explored the trade market of Porzingis.

Multiple NBA teams are questioning how emphatic the Knicks will continue to be on their "no" in trading Porzingis for Irving. Porzingis remains distant from the organization.

Cavaliers Fixated On Acquiring Young Star For Kyrie Irving

Aug 15, 2017 9:50 AM

The Cleveland Cavaliers want LeBron James to commit to the franchise before building around him while he wants to see the team execute a plan before committing to them.

While Cleveland wants James to re-sign, they are fearful of making a Kyrie Irving trade that doesn't allow them to rebuild for the long-term.

The Cavaliers have become more fixated on acquiring a young star such as Kristaps Porzingis, Jayson Tatum, Josh Jackson or Jamal Murray in their trade inquiries involving Irving.

Cleveland is determined to get an elite young player back in return for Irving. If James was committed long-term, they could trade Irving for veterans.

Cleveland has been deliberate with the trade process and conversations could become more aggressive in September close to the start of camp.
