Wizards Top Thunder In NBA's Worst Matchup Ever

Dec 28, 2008 11:20 AM

The Wizards defeated the Thunder on Saturday night in an unwanted historic NBA game.

Until now there had never been an NBA game with two teams that had played at least 25 games and had the two worst records in the league, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

"I don't feel we're a three-win team," Oklahoma City interim coach Scott Brooks said. "Unfortunately, we are."

Washington went into the game 4-23, while Oklahoma City entered the game 3-27.

"In abnormal circumstances, every game is a must-win," Wizards interim coach Ed Tapscott said.

Iverson's Runner With 0.2 Remaining Lifts Pistons

Dec 27, 2008 6:39 AM

After passing up a chance to win the game against Utah last week, Allen Iverson was taking no chances against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night.

According to the Associated Press, Iverson hit a runner with 0.2 seconds to give his Pistons a 90-88 win.

"The play was for me to run the clock down and try to get to the basket," he said. "There wasn't much time for me to create anything else."

"That was a great play by Allen," Pistons' Coach Michael Curry said. "He hadn't had much going for him in the first three quarters, but then he took over the game."
