Tobias Harris Undergoes MRI, Seeks Second Opinion On Injured Leg

Nov 30, 2013 2:19 PM

Tobias Harris has been limited to just one game this season due to a high ankle sprain. Harris suffered a setback and has undergone an MRI and received a second medical opinion.

“High-ankle sprains take time, and everybody’s healing timeline is different,” Magic general manager Rob Hennigan said Saturday. “And, right now, Tobias is working through that and trying to figure [that] out. When he feels his ankle is right, he’ll be ready to play. So, our stance right now is to be pre-cautious and make sure that we don’t rush him back.”

Harris has played well for the Orlando Magic since a trade last season.

Oladipo Trying To Work Through Issues Handling Basketball

Nov 10, 2013 8:46 PM

Victor Oladipo recorded 23 assists against 28 turnovers in his first seven NBA games.

The Orlando Magic are working on transitioning Oladipo from a shooting guard to point guard.

"It's a tough position to play to have the ball in your hand and make decisions," Jacque Vaughn said. "A lot of times playing by instincts is better than thinking too much. I think right now, at the end of the day, that's OK to do. He'll continue to grow, and that's the great thing: He'll have the games to continue to grow and get better."

"It's just a learning process, like everything else," Oladipo said.

"I still feel like I can get to the rim. It's just a matter of me finishing now. Again, it's all a learning process."

Tobias Harris Progressing With Ankle Injury, Still Ways Away From Playing

Nov 5, 2013 4:49 PM

Tobias Harris remains sidelined with a sprained left ankle and believes he has made progress in his recovery.

Harris has not pushed off or cut with his left foot.

"I'm all right and getting better," Harris said Tuesday. "I'm just trying to get healthy and doing all I can for that."

Harris entered this season with high hopes after a strong finish to last season.

Harris is expected to be a ways away from returning to the Orlando Magic.

"It's going to take some time," Harris said. "I have to get back to where I want to be and back into the top shape I was in and get back out on the floor."

Magic Prepared To Trade Jameer Nelson For First Rounder

Nov 1, 2013 3:07 PM

The Orlando Magic are open to trading Jameer Nelson and his reasonable $8.6 million contract.

Nelson is owed only $2 million in guaranteed money next season.

The Magic would almost certainly deal Nelson for a future first round pick, but could find that asking price difficult.
