Wolves Pursued Trade For Aaron Gordon

Dec 21, 2020 1:45 PM

The Minnesota Timberwolves pursued a trade for Aaron Gordon this offseason, league sources tell Zach Lowe of ESPN.

The Wolves are thin at power forward with Juan Hernangomez and Jake Layman on the depth chart. Minnesota, however, is deep on the perimeter with D'Angelo Russell, Ricky Rubio, Anthony Edwards, Jarrett Culver, Josh Okogie and Malik Beasley.

Gordon has two seasons remaining on his contract at $18.1 million and down to $16.4 million in 21-22. Gordon's long-term future with the Orlando Magic has been uncertain due to Jonathan Isaac.

Mo Bamba To Sit Out Contact Drills In Training Camp Due To Long-Term Effects Of COVID-19

Dec 2, 2020 1:34 AM

Steve Clifford said that Mo Bamba and Al-Farouq Aminu are "a ways away" from participating in contact drills when training camp opens.

Bamba is suffering long-term effects from COVID-19, while Aminu is recovering from surgery to repair a torn miniscus.

Bamba left the NBA bubble in August to undergo more tests after struggling to regain his conditioning. The team said then that Bamba's return would be “be measured in months, not weeks."

Bamba has made positive progress in recent weeks, according to The Athletic.
