Aaron Gordon has committed to participating in the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest in Chicago.

Gordon joins Dwight Howard and Derrick Jones Jr. as confirmed commits.

Gordon narrowly lost the 2016 Dunk Contest to Zach LaVine.

In 2017, Gordon was eliminated from the contest in the first round.

Gary Clark has agreed to sign a second 10-day contract with the Orlando Magic.

Clark has averaged 4.0 points in 13.7 minutes over five games since joining the Magic.

Clark previously played in a 18 games with the Houston Rockets this season.

Terrence Ross has changed his jersey number from No. 8 to No. 31 in honor of Kobe Bryant.

Bryant wore No. 8 for the first part of his career before changing to No. 24.

Ross previously wore No. 31 with the Magic before changing to No. 8.

D.J. Augustin is expected to miss the next 3-4 weeks after an MRI revealed a bone irritation to his left knee.

"I definitely think (time off) will help get me back to playing, and me playing on it right now just isn’t smart and it isn’t helping the team, so (resting the knee) is what’s best," said Augustin, while adding that he hopes to avoid surgery.

Augustin is averaging 10.7 points and 4.7 assists on the season. 

The Orlando Magic have signed free agent forward Gary Clark to a 10-day contract.

In addition, Orlando has released guard Josh Magette.

Clark (6’6”, 225, 11/16/94) has played in 18 games this season with Houston, averaging 3.9 ppg. and 2.2 rpg. in 11.8 minpg., while shooting .353 (18-51) from three-point range. He also appeared in four games with Rio Grande Valley of the NBA G League, averaging 20.0 ppg., 5.8 rpg., 2.5 apg., 2.50 stlpg. and 1.00 blkpg. in 36.8 minpg. Clark was waived by the Rockets on January 7, 2020.

Undrafted by an NBA franchise, Clark played in 51 games (two starts) during his rookie campaign with Houston, averaging 2.9 ppg. and 2.3 rpg. in 12.6 minpg. He also played in seven games with Rio Grande Valley of the NBA G League, averaging 12.0 ppg., 6.9 rpg., 2.9 apg., 1.55 stlpg. and 1.00 blkpg. in 30.3 minpg.

The Orlando Magic converted Josh Magette's two-way deal to a 10-day contract, league sources told Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.

Magette was close to running out of the 45 days allotted on his two-way deal. Magette is averaging 1.5 points per game this season. 

The Magic then signed Vic Law to a two-way contract, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Law is an undrafted rookie out of Northwestern. 

The Golden State Warriors are "unlikely" to trade D'Angelo Russell before the February trade deadline, according to a source that spoke with Sam Amick of The Athletic. 

Another source offered a hard "no" when asked about the Warriors' interest in a trade of Russell to the Orlando Magic for Aaron Gordon.

Russell is averaging 23.2 points, six assists and 3.4 rebounds for the Warriors.

Gordon signed a four-year, $76 million deal in 2018 but has regressed this season. Gordon is also a native of the San Francisco Bay Area.

“There is chatter coming from Orlando,” one executive said this week.

The Orlando Magic have applied for Disabled Player Exceptions for both Jonathan Isaac and Al-Farouq Aminu.

Isaac is out at least eight to 10 weeks after an MRI revealed a severe sprain and bone contusion to his left knee. 

Aminu is out at least 12 weeks with surgery on his torn meniscus. 

Al-Farouq Aminu will be out at least 12 weeks with surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. Aminu suffered the injury on Nov. 29 and has missed all games since then.

Aminu is ruled out indefinitely and will be reevaluated in 12 weeks.

Aminu is in his first season with the Orlando Magic. 

Jonathan Isaac will be out for the next 8-10 weeks after an MRI revealed a severe sprain and bone contusion to his left knee.

"While this certainly is disappointing news, there was no damage to his ACL, MCL and PCL ligaments. All signs point to a complete recovery and this should not impact his future growth," said president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman.

Isaac is averaging 12.0 points and 6.9 rebounds on the season.
