The Orlando Magic have signed free agent center Moritz Wagner for the remainder of the regular season.

In addition, forward Robert Franks has been released from his 10-day contract.

Wagner (6’11”, 245, 4/26/97) played in 34 games this season (14 starts) with both Washington and Boston, averaging 5.6 ppg., 2.7 rpg. and 1.1 apg. in 12.8 minpg. He appeared in 25 games (13 starts) with the Wizards, averaging 7.1 ppg., 2.9 rpg. and 1.3 apg. in 15.0 minpg. Wagner was traded to Boston as part of a three-team deal on Mar. 25. He played in nine games (one start) with the Celtics, averaging 1.2 ppg. and 2.1 rpg. in 6.8 minpg. Wagner was waived by Boston on Apr. 16.

Originally selected in the first round (25th overall) of the 2018 NBA Draft by the L.A. Lakers, Wagner has played in 122 career NBA regular season games (24 starts) with the Lakers, Washington and Boston, averaging 6.5 ppg., 3.2 rpg. and 1.0 apg. in 14.1 minpg.

Devin Cannady will require surgery after suffering an open fracture of his right ankle.

Cannady, who suffered the injury in the first quarter against the Pacers, was stretchered off the court.

Cannady had signed a two-way deal with the Magic on April 16.

Steve Clifford will miss several games after testing positive for COVID-19, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Clifford, who recorded three positive tests, is asymptomatic. 

Clifford received both doses of the Moderna vaccine, with his second dose on Thursday. He is not fully considered vaccinated as two weeks have not passed since his last dose.

Tyrone Corbin will replace Clifford as head coach. 

The Orlando Magic have signed forward Donta Hall to a second 10-day contract.

Hall originally signed a 10-day contract with Orlando on Apr. 13. He has played in four games with the Magic, averaging 4.3 ppg., 4.3 rpg., 1.5 apg. and 1.50 blkpg in 14.0 minpg.

Hall also played in 12 games this season (11 starts) with both Ignite and Raptors 905 of the NBA G League, averaging 10.2 ppg., 8.3 rpg., 1.5 apg. and 2.08 blkpg. in 24.8 minpg., while shooting .625 (50-80) from the floor.

Franks has appeared in four games with the Magic and is averaging 5.0 points and 1.8 rebounds in 11.8 minutes per game.

Franks went undrafted in 2019 out of Washington State.

The Orlando Magic are set to sign Robert Franks to a 10-day contract, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Franks averaged 12.1 points and 6.7 rebounds for the Lakeland Magic in the G League.

Hall averaged 10.2 points and 8.3 rebounds in 24.8 minutes over 12 games this season in the G League.

Hall spent time in 19-20 with both the Brooklyn Nets and Detroit Pistons.

Khem Birch is finalizing a contract buyout with the Orlando Magic and plans to sign the Toronto Raptors upon clearing waivers.

Birch is a native of Montreal.

Birch is averaging 5.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 19.8 minutes per game.

The Orlando Magic have signed Devin Cannady to a 10-day contract.

Cannady (6’2”, 183, 5/21/96) played in 13 games this season (nine starts) with Lakeland of the NBA G League, averaging 11.7 ppg., 2.8 rpg. and 2.7 apg. in 25.8 minpg., while shooting .400 (28-70) from three-point range. He played and started in all three playoff outings, averaging 15.7 ppg., 4.7 rpg. and 3.3 apg. in 29.7 minpg., while shooting .450 (9-20) from three-point range. During the 2021 NBA G League Final on Mar. 11 vs. Delaware, Cannady tallied 22 points, six rebounds and four assists and was named G League Final MVP, helping Lakeland capture the 2020-21 NBA G League championship.

Prior to joining Lakeland, Cannady signed as a free agent with Orlando on Nov. 27 and appeared in two preseason games with the Magic, tallying six points, two rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot in nine minutes. He was waived on Dec. 19.
