Joel Embiid Practices, Hopes To Return To Lineup Next Week

Jan 24, 2020 11:41 PM

Joel Embiid returned to practice on Friday for the first time since undergoing finger surgery on January 10th.

Embiid added that he hopes to return to the court next week.

The Sixers are 5-3 in Embiid's absence.

Embiid added that he will wear a protective device on his hand when he returns.

"Still getting used to it. From time to time, you get slapped on the hand, so going through practice and going through those scenarios and seeing how it goes and also getting back into it. I had a little time off where I couldn't do anything with the surgery, so probably a little bit winded, and have to get my conditioning back," said Embiid.

76ers, Mavericks Amongst Teams Interested In Trading For Danilo Gallinari

Jan 23, 2020 11:43 AM

The Oklahoma City Thunder have received interest from multiple playoff teams in Danilo Gallinari, sources tell Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer.

The Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers are two specific teams who have registered interest with the Thunder.

Gallinari will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason at the age of 31.

The Thunder are on pace to be a playoff team, which will almost certainly impact what they would need to receive in return for Gallinari.

Josh Richardson Leaves Game With Hamstring Injury, To Be Re-Evaluated On Thursday

Jan 23, 2020 1:31 AM

Josh Richardson left the Philadelphia 76ers' 107-95 loss to the Toronto Raptors early in the first quarter due to a hamstring injury. Richardson did not return to the game.

Richardson will be re-evaluated on Thursday.

Brett Brown said that Richardson's injury opened up an opportunity for another Sixers player to step up.

"I see it as an opportunity. Something will happen out of this, where something will emerge. ... They've got a togetherness, and we'll figure this out. And then, in the not-too-distant future, here comes Jo, whatever that means, and we'll deal with J-Rich's injury on the terms I just said," said Brown after the game.

Joel Embiid To Launch His First Signature Shoe With Under Armour

Jan 14, 2020 8:59 PM

Joel Embiid and Under Armour will launch his first signature shoe towards the end of 2020.

Embiid will be the only center in the NBA with a signature shoe. Sixteen current NBA players have their own signature shoe.

"It's been a long and great process," Embiid said. "It's not a big man shoe. It's a shoe for any basketball player."

Embiid could debut the signature shoe as early as the playoffs.

"Early on in the design process, Joel shared that he thought his life was like a movie, and like movies, all basketball careers have origin stories," Under Armour designer Reggie Wilson said. "Since Joel's story began in Cameroon, that was the creative focus of our first colorway, 'Origin.'"
