Sarver: Alvin Gentry's Job Remains Safe

Dec 10, 2012 6:37 PM

Phoenix Suns majority owner Robert Sarver believes in Alvin Gentry and his staff and made it clear that it is too early in the season to make a coaching change.

"We've got confidence in our coaching staff and we're not considering making changes," Sarver said. "It's still early in the season."

Gentry has guided the Suns to just a 7-15 record so far this season, including the team's current seven-game losing streak.

Beasley Frustrated, Bewildered By Struggles

Dec 7, 2012 1:59 PM

Michael Beasley entered Thursday's loss to by the Phoenix Suns to the Dallas Mavericks with the NBA's worst cumulative plus/minutes (-136) while shooting 37.4 percent.

“I don’t know what it is,” Beasley said of his struggles. “I come in every game optimistic about my play and my shots. It’s just not good right now and it’s not what anybody’s doing. It’s all me. I’m getting extra shots. I’m getting extra shots on top of extra shots. I’ve just got to be patient. Let the game come to me. Just sort of ride it out.

“Of course I’m frustrated because I visualize myself as something I’m not right now. Not to say I can’t be. As of right now, I’m not playing as well as I want to play or can play or as well as the team needs. Yeah, I’m frustrated but like I said just got to continue to do what I’m doing, work hard and ride it out.”

Zach Randolph Rounding Into Dominant Form

Dec 5, 2012 10:53 AM

After an injury-riddled season in 2011-12, Zach Randolph has returned to the top form that propelled the Memphis Grizzlies to the Western Conference semifinals two years ago.

Randolph is averaging almost 18 points and 13.3 rebounds and is feeling much healthier this season. He pounded the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night to the tune of 38 points and 22 rebounds, becoming the second player over the past decade to post those numbers.

"Reminded me of two years ago Zach," Marc Gasol said. "He was aggressive. He wasn't settling. He attacked the rim every time."

Many believed Randolph was one of the best power forwards in the NBA a couple seasons ago, and he's slowly returning to that level.

"It felt good," Randolph said. "... I felt like my old self."
