Devin Booker, Karl-Anthony Towns Qualify For Super Max Extensions

May 25, 2022 9:31 AM

Devin Booker and Karl-Anthony Towns each have two years remaining on their current contracts but are now eligible to add more years and dollars to their deals. By virtue of being named to the All-NBA Team, both Booker and Towns qualify for so-called super max contract extensions as designated players.

The projected extensions would start with the 2024-25 seasons and carry a first-year salary of $47.1 million. In total, both Booker and Towns are eligible to add four years and nearly $211 million to their deals.

Booker was named to the All-NBA First Team at the guard position, while Towns was named to the All-NBA Third Team at the center position. Which team they made is irrelevant, as simply being named All-NBA is enough to qualify for the designated player status it takes to jump a salary tier.

Hawks, Pistons, Blazers Most Frequently Mentioned As Potential Deandre Ayton Landing Spot

May 24, 2022 10:08 AM

The Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons and Portland Trail Blazers are the three teams most often linked to a potential pursuit of Deandre Ayton in restricted free agency.

The Charlotte Hornets and San Antonio Spurs are also logical fits for Ayton.

The Phoenix Suns decided not to offer a five-year, $170 million max contract to Ayton last offseason and they also quietly gauged his trade value at the deadline. One structure that was discussed was with the Indiana Pacers for Domantas Sabonis.

Some around the league believe Monty Williams has been frustrated by Ayton's "waning focus" and has contributed to inconsistent playing time.

The Suns may simply not view Ayton, or any center, as worth more than $30 million per season. Phoenix could then be amenable to a sign-and-trade for frontcourt help at a more affordable number.

Deandre Ayton's Agent: Disappointed We Didn't Get A Max Deal

May 23, 2022 8:58 AM

Longtime NBA agent Bill Duffy appeared on SiriusXM NBA Radio from the 2022 NBA Draft Combine. One topic of conversation was the upcoming free agency of Deandre Ayton, who is one of Duffy's clients.

When asked where things stand with the Phoenix Suns, Duffy admitted Ayton's camp is disappointed a deal wasn't already worked out.

“We’re disappointed. We wanted a max contract,” Duffy said. “He went out and was a solider the whole year, played well, improved his statistics. So, we’re proud of him. A lot of guys handle things differently, but he was very mature about it."

Duffy expressed confidence that Ayton will still get a good deal, even if it's not with Phoenix.

"Things will work out for Deandre. He’s a valuable player," Duffy said. "There’s other teams in the league as well. He’s a restricted free agent, so we’ll see how this process unfolds.”

Get Insured With Caesars Sportsbook Promo Code

As fun as the NBA postseason has been, it hasn’t been easy. Just take the Brooklyn Nets being swept in Round 1 or the Suns losing Games 6 and 7 to the Dallas Mavericks in Round 2. Because sports betting can be so difficult, it’s critical that bettors take advantage of any sort of promotion they can find.

That’s exactly why the Caesars Sportsbook promo code REALGMCZR is important. You’ll get complete insurance up to $1,100 on the very first real money wager you make. Here’s how it works:

  • Register for a new account and use the Caesars Sportsbook promo code REALGMCZR when prompted to do so; that’ll lock in your first-bet insurance
  • Complete your sign-up by providing personal information and verifying both your age and physical location
  • After registration is complete, choose a banking method and make a qualifying deposit
  • Place your first bet.

The last step is the important part. Caesars Sportsbook allows players to choose any set of odds from any sports betting market to place that first wager. Bettors can place a wager up to $1,100 and get it insured.

Here’s how that breaks down: If your first wager is a winner, you’ll earn a profit and be on your way with one of the top online sportsbooks in the industry. You won’t earn any kind of insurance because you didn’t need it. But if your first bet loses, you’re still in luck. That’s why you used the promo code.

Feel Redeemed With Your First-Bet Insurance

Unlike the Suns or Bucks, losing a single matchup isn’t the end of your season. The Caesars Sportsbook promo code REALGMCZR insures your first real money wager up to $1,100. Bettors will have seven days to play that free bet, which shouldn’t be an issue considering there are still NBA games just about every night.

There’s a simple one-time playthrough requirement on that free bet, meaning anything you win after placing the free bet becomes real money that can be withdrawn or bet again. That’s as good as it gets for sports bettors, who will be able to do whatever they want with their funds after wagering the free bet just one time through.

On top of the welcome bonus, new players also earn the daily promotions and offers that Caesars Sportsbook gives to all of its players. It all adds up to an easy decision for sports bettors to sign up for a new account, use the promo code, and be part of one of the best online sportsbooks in the industry.

BetMGM AZ Bonus Code REALGM: Bet $10, Win $200 For NBA Conference Finals

May 21, 2022 9:15 AM

It might be tough not seeing the Phoenix Suns in this year’s Conference Finals, but Arizona bettors still have plenty to watch as the NBA season comes down the stretch. Whether you’re rooting for the Warriors or want to see the Mavs earn another upset, there’s an opportunity for bettors to earn an easy $200 in free bets, thanks to the BetMGM AZ bonus code REALGM.

All bettors need to do is place a $10 moneyline or spread bet on an NBA game, and after the first 3-pointer is made by either team, you’re automatically a winner. It’s truly one of the best promo codes running right now among the top Arizona sportsbooks, and it’s available right now through the rest of the NBA postseason. We’ll go over everything bettors need to know about the BetMGM Arizona bonus code REALGM, so they can start earning today as we near the NBA Finals.

The good news is that you don’t have to live in Arizona to be eligible for the BetMGM bonus code, you just need to be in a state in which BetMGM sportsbook operates.

BetMGM Arizona Bonus Code: Bet $10, Win $200

Suns fans know a thing or two about 3-pointers. Phoenix was ninth in 3-point field goal percentage in the regular season. But for the BetMGM Arizona bonus code REALGM, bettors will only need one triple to hit in the NBA postseason game of their choosing.

Here’s how it all breaks down:

  • Register for a new account using the BetMGM bonus code REALGM when prompted to do so; that will lock your welcome bonus in
  • Complete your registration with a few short steps, and then verify both your age and that you’re physically located in Arizona
  • Make a qualifying deposit

Then you get to the fun part. Choose the NBA postseason game of your liking and place a $10 bet or more on one team’s moneyline or spread. As soon as your team or its opponent makes a 3-pointer, you’ll be up $200 in free bets. What’s more, you’ll also be able to earn winning on your real money bet. This bet should comfortably hit in the first quarter, making it the easiest $200 in free bets you can earn anywhere.

Redeeming Your Free Bets With BetMGM AZ

BetMGM AZ hands out the $200 with four $50 free bets. It’s nice because bettors won’t need to place one big bet to use the free wagers. Getting to spread it out is more enjoyable, and there’s less risk involved. There is just a one-time playthrough requirement when using the free bets, meaning any winnings can be used like real cash to be bet again or withdrawn. That’s a better deal than a lot of other sports betting apps. Note that the free bet amount is not included in any winnings, so a $50 free bet on +100 odds would yield $50 total, not $100.

If Arizona bettors have been waiting for the right time to get in on the sports betting action, they’ve found it. The BetMGM Arizona bonus code REALGM is putting $200 in free bets and giving you full access to the daily perks and promotions that all players receive. But it’s only available for a limited time during the NBA postseason, so get going. Register, use the promo code, and earn your free bets before the next postseason game tips off.

James Jones: Deandre Ayton A Big Part Of What We Do

May 19, 2022 8:37 AM

Deandre Ayton is one of the best free agents available this summer, despite his restrict free agent status. Yet, Ayton's future with the Phoenix Suns remains in doubt.

Suns general manager James Jones said that Ayton remains a part of his team's plans.

“Deandre had an amazing season and he’s progressed every year and improved every year,” Jones said. “He’s been here and so he’s a big part of what we do. His future with us is something we will address at the proper time which is in the future. He’s a free agent and I’ve said all along: he’s about the same things were about, which is winning. We’ll address it at the proper time.”

Ayton and Phoenix could not reach agreement on a contract extension last offseason. Ayton reportedly wanted a five-year, max deal, while the Suns countered by offering only four years. Now, Ayton could be a target for teams hoping to sign him via an offer sheet in restricted free agency.

Suns, Pacers Talked Deandre Ayton Trade Ideas Before Deadline

May 17, 2022 10:01 AM

While they didn't go anywhere, the Phoenix Suns and Indiana Pacers had exploratory talks on a trade centered around Deandre Ayton prior to the trade deadline. Those conversations didn't get very far, because Phoenix didn't want to disrupt their team in-season. Often, however, those talks set the table for a deal that gets made in the offseason.

ESPN previously reported that Ayton will have "max offers" as a restricted free agent in July. Whether one of those teams will be the Pacers, who do project to be a cap space team this summer, is up in the air.

The sense is that if Phoenix explores ways to make major changes to their team this summer, an Ayton sign-and-trade is the most likely way it happens. He's had issues on and off throughout his Suns tenure. The most recent of which was a run-in with head coach Monty Williams, as Phoenix got blown out by the Dallas Mavericks in Game 7 of their second round series.

Deandre Ayton 'Going To Get A Max Contract Somewhere'

May 16, 2022 10:14 PM

Deandre Ayton will be a restricted free agent this offseason after the Phoenix Suns were unable to sign him to an extension.

"Going into this season, Deandre Ayton did not feel valued by this Phoenix organization," said Adrian Wojnarowski on Monday. "They were not able to come to an agreement on a rookie extension. He saw many of the top players of his class get extensions. He wanted a max deal. He would not move off that.

"So now he moves toward restricted free agency this summer where now he'll have some more options. But ultimately Phoenix can still match an offer out there and keep him if he signs an offer sheet with another team."

Teams with cap space could pursue Ayton, but the Suns could also participate in a sign-and-trade. The future of Ayton with the Suns was already tenuous, but his confrontation with Monty Williams during Game 7 casts further doubt on the situation.

"You're going to look at the teams with cap space. Let's say for example Oklahoma City, a San Antonio, Portland. Teams that can create enough cap space to go out and sign him. But also the discussions of a sign-and-trade...

"If Phoenix decides they want to get assets back for Deandre Ayton. They don't want to match an offer sheet and either decide to pay him that max, or allow him to leave for nothing, which I think is what they won't do. There will be a lot of conversations around the league.

"Deandre Ayton is going to get a max contract in the marketplace somewhere. Phoenix really has to look at the allocation financially of how they want to distribute salaries.

"The relationship with Monty Williams had been one of the real benefits. I think their ability to work together and build a relationship. It will be interesting how that season ended impacts this. It will really be one of the stories of this offseason because there are a lot of teams figuring out how to acquire [Ayton]."

Chris Paul Won't Retire In Offseason, Quad Injury Issue During Playoffs Leaks

May 16, 2022 8:00 AM

Chris Paul confirmed he won't retire this offseason after the Phoenix Suns' disappointing Game 7 loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Semifinals.

"You play long enough and you don't win, every time you lose, they're going to say it was your best chance," said Paul. "But I think for me, us, it's we'll be right back next year. I'll tell you that much.

"I'm not retiring tomorrow, thank God. Hopefully, I'm healthy coming back. But I'm [going to] keep playing."

Paul re-signed with the Suns during the 2021 offseason on a four-year, $120 million that is partially guaranteed in Year 4.

Marc Spears of Andscape reported that Paul has a previously unreported quad injury. Paul didn't comment on the injury when asked after the game.
