Portland Conservative On Pryzbilla's Return

Aug 27, 2010 4:16 PM

The Trail Blazers aren't expecting Joel Przybilla to be ready for training camp.

"He's back in Milwaukee working really hard. He's continuing his rehab. I've spoken to the trainer and he's come along well," new Portland general manager Rich Cho said.

Przybilla suffered a serious knee injury and aggravated it when he slipped in the shower this spring.

"I don't think he'll be back for camp. Not playing on the court. He'll be at training camp. Right now with Joel we're looking at probably a November or December time frame."

Aug 26, 2010 10:35 PM

The Blazers are actively looking to trade Rudy Fernandez.

"I've talked to a lot of teams," said GM Rich Cho. "I don't want to get into specific trade talks. The whole Rudy issue is out there so I will speak to it a little bit. I have been active in talking to a lot of teams."

Cho dismissed the possibility of Portland releasing Fernandez.

Celtics Looking At Possible Fernandez Trade

Aug 26, 2010 3:57 AM

The Celtics have a roster spot open and are currently looking for a shooter, meaning Rudy Fernandez could be an option.

"We're just continuing to explore available players and trade possibilities and see what sort of options are there," said Danny Ainge. "There are some trade discussions that we're having. I don't know the likelihood of those happening, but we?ll continue to not rush into something unless it's something that we're really excited about."

Another option for the Celtics could be free agent veteran Larry Hughes.

Oden Says Recovery Is On Schedule

Aug 22, 2010 9:53 AM

Greg Oden says he's on track in his recovery from a major knee injury.

"The doctors tell me I'm on time," he said Saturday. "We're going at a pace that they've got for me. Things are looking pretty good."

However, being "on time" doesn't mean Oden will be ready for the start of training camp or even necessarily the team's season opener against Phoenix on Oct. 26.

"By saying 'on time,' means I'm on schedule to heal," he said.

Last December, Oden's season ended when he fractured the patella in his left knee in a game against the Rockets.

"I'm feeling good," he said. "I have been running. But I have not played yet."

Blazers Maintain Cautious Expectations For Oden

Aug 19, 2010 10:35 PM

Greg Oden continues to rehabilitate his surgically repaired left knee and the Blazers insist things are progressing according to schedule.

But the team is not committing to Oden being ready for the beginning of the season.

"I don't really want to put any time frame on it," Blazers general manager Rich Cho  said, regarding Oden's return. "I don't want any expectations out there. And I don't want to put any pressure on Greg. The last thing I want him to do is come back earlier (than he should) because people are expecting it."

Cho remains pleased with Oden's status as the offseason fades and training camp approaches.

"He's on track for everything," Cho said. "Greg is working hard and we're pleased with his rehab efforts."
