Monk is expected to command a salary in the range of $8 million to $12 million. The Kings can offer him all or part of their $10.3 million mid-level exception.

Donte DiVincenzo To Be Unrestricted Free Agent After No Qualifying Offer

Jun 29, 2022 7:21 PM

The Sacramento Kings did not tender a qualifying offer to guard Donte DiVincenzo. That means DiVincenzo will now be an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

The Kings acquired DiVincenzo at last season's trade deadline in a four-team trade that also featured the Detroit Pistons, LA Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks. There were reports that the fourth-year guard was unhappy because he didn't start, nor play enough, with Sacramento to reach Starter Criteria. Reaching those benchmarks would have given DiVincenzo a larger qualifying offer as a restricted free agent.

Now, that's no longer an issue, and DiVincenzo will be free to sign with the team of his choosing. In four NBA season, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard has averaged 9.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, while shooting 35% on three-pointers.

Kings 'High' On Keegan Murray, Have Had No Contact With Jaden Ivey In Draft Process

Jun 21, 2022 1:19 AM

The Sacramento Kings are reportedly "high" on Keegan Murray and went as far as arranging dinner between him, De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, sources told Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.

The Kings currently have the No. 4 pick in the upcoming draft.

Should the Kings pass on Murray, the forward would not make it past the Blazers with the seventh pick, according to Haynes.

James Ham of ESPN 1320 reported that Jaden Ivey has had no contact with the Kings throughout the draft process.

The Kings have also been active in trade discussions involving John Collins

Kings Have Talked Trading For John Collins

Jun 20, 2022 10:08 AM

The Sacramento Kings have talked with the Atlanta Hawks about trading for John Collins. At this point, the Kings have reportedly not offered the No. 4 overall pick for Collins.

The Kings are asking a steep price from teams looking to move up to No. 4. Sacramento is comfortable keeping that pick and selecting a player for themselves.

Atlanta has been rumored to have Collins on the market since the season ended. The Hawks are facing an increasingly expensive roster after signing several players to extensions in recent seasons. Collins and his $23 million to $25 million per year salary have him someone that Atlanta is open to move to clear up their salary sheet a bit.

Hornets, Kings Have Interest In Signing Kevon Looney

Jun 18, 2022 1:59 PM

Kevon Looney is coming off his best NBA season for the Golden State Warriors. Now, Looney is in line for a big pay day in free agency.

Both the Charlotte Hornets and Sacramento Kings reportedly have interest in signing Looney. It's probably not a coincidence that both the Hornets and Kings have hired former Warriors assistants Kenny Atkinson and Mike Brown as their respective head coaches.

Looney appeared in all 82 games last season and started in 80 of them. He also played in 22 playoff games (13 starts) as the Warriors won the 2022 NBA Finals. In a fully healthy season, Looney averaged 6.0 points and grabbed a career-high 7.3 rebounds per game, while anchoring the backline of Golden State's defense.

Jaden Ivey Would Prefer Kings Don't Draft Him

Jun 16, 2022 9:32 AM

Jaden Ivey is widely considered to be one of the top four or five prospects in the 2022 NBA Draft. That means he should be in the mix for the Sacramento Kings with the fourth pick.

However, Ivey reportedly prefers to not go to the Kings. It's unclear if Ivey has worked out for Sacramento or provided the team with his medical information. Those complications haven't deterred the Kings from selecting a prospect in the past.

Ivey's reluctance to go to Sacramento could put this pick in play to be traded. It's also possible that the Kings select another player, with Keegan Murray having some fans within the organization.
