Spurs Used Tech Industry Of Austin In Pitch To Andre Iguodala

Sep 20, 2017 12:14 PM

The San Antonio Spurs only had their non-taxpayer midlevel exception available to offer Andre Iguodala in free agency.

With Iguodala known to have a history investing in tech companies, the Spurs attempted to pitch him on opportunities that could be available to him nearby in Austin.

Iguodala sought to remain heavily involved in tech even if he left the Warriors.

The Spurs hoped their culture and the ability to remain close to the tech world would convince Iguodala to leave the Warriors.
