The Toronto Raptors were interested in trading for Nikola Mirotic from the New Orleans Pelicans at the trade deadline.
The Raptors and Pelicans worked together on a three-way trade that would have sent Delon Wright to the Orlando Magic.
The Pelicans instead traded Mirotic to the Milwaukee Bucks, which led the Raptors to pivot to their acquisition of Marc Gasol instead.
Fred VanVleet underwent surgery to repair a partial ligament injury to his left thumb. The procedure was performed by Dr. Michelle Carlson in New York City. VanVleet will wear a splint for approximately three weeks.
His condition will then be updated as appropriate. League sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic VanVleet will be out approximately five weeks.
The injury occurred in the second quarter Feb. 9 at New York. VanVleet is averaging 10.5 points, 4.6 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 26.8 minutes in 51 games (22 starts) this season. He has scored in double figures 30 times, including a career-high 30 points Feb. 7 at Atlanta.
Kristaps Porzingis had a wish list of four teams for a potential trade with the Dallas Mavericks omitted.
Porzingis had the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors on his list, according to two people with knowledge of the list.
The initial reporting following the trade indicated that Porzingis planned to sign the qualifying offer with the Mavericks as a restricted free agent. Comments made since then have suggested a long-term deal between the Mavericks and Porzingis now has a better probability.

Jeremy Lin has agreed to a buyout with the Atlanta Hawks and will sign with the Toronto Raptors once he clears waivers.
Lin was traded by the Brooklyn Nets to the Hawks this past offseason.
Lin was on an expiring contract.

Miller has been with the Raptors for the last two seasons, mostly playing with the Raptors 905 in the G League.
Miller's signing, along with Chris Boucher's addition earlier in the day, brings the Raptors' roster up to 12 players. They will need to add 2 more players by the end of the All-Star break.
The Toronto Raptors have converted Chris Boucher from a two-way contract to a multi-year deal. Terms were not disclosed.
Boucher originally signed a two-way deal with the Raptors in mid-October. He averaged 27.6 points and 11.1 rebounds with the Raptors 905 in the G League.
The Raptors now have 11 players on their roster, and will need to get up to 14 players by February 24th.

McLemore averaged 3.9 points per game with the Kings this season.
The signing makes McLemore the highest drafted player and the only lottery pick on the Raptors roster.
