The Minnesota Timberwolves have traded Ricky Rubio to the Utah Jazz. Minnesota will acquire Oklahoma City's 2018 first round pick from Utah, which is top-14 protected. 

With George Hill's future with the Jazz uncertain, trading for Rubio would give Utah protection against losing him.

The Jazz have cap space to absorb Rubio's deal.

Zach Lowe of ESPN reports Hill is likely to leave the Jazz.

With Minnesota trading away Rubio, they're expected to be active on the free agent point guard market with Kyle Lowry, Jeff Teague, George Hill and Jrue Holiday as options.

The ability of the Utah Jazz to re-sign George Hill in free agency could determine whether Gordon Hayward re-signs.

Hayward wants the Jazz to keep Hill and his decision could even hinge on that.

Hayward and Hill are known to be close friends and are both Indianapolis natives.

The Jazz traded for Hill at last year's draft.

While the Utah Jazz, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat are the three teams with meetings scheduled with Gordon Hayward in free agency, a fourth team could get involved as well.

"It wouldn't shock me if a secret fourth team scheduled a last-minute meeting with him, either," writes Zach Lowe.

While Lowe doesn't suggest any potential candidates to be that fourth secret team, the Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets are three teams that would fit logically and either have enough cap space or could create enough.

The Spurs have pursued trade scenarios this offseason involving both Danny Green and LaMarcus Aldridge.

Gordon Hayward has officially declined his $16.7 million player option with the Utah Jazz for the 17-18 season to become an unrestricted free agent.

Hayward will meet with the Jazz, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat in free agency.

Hayward is coming off his 3-plus-1 deal he signed with Charlotte in 2014 that the Jazz matched.

Gordon Hayward will meet with the Miami Heat on Saturday and the Utah Jazz on Monday.

Hayward will also meet with the Boston Celtics.

According to sources, Hayward wants to make a decision on his future "in short order."

Hayward is expected to receive full max offers from all three teams with the Jazz having the ability to include a fifth season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets and Utah Jazz are among the teams that will pursue Andre Iguodala in free agency.

The Golden State Warriors still hope to re-sign Iguodala and it is not yet known whether Iguodala will take meetings with rival teams. Iguodala joined the Warriors on a four-year, $48 million deal in 2013.

If the Jazz lose Gordon Hayward, they are expected to make Iguodala their top priority.

Shaun Livingston is another free agent the Warriors would like to re-sign.

The Utah Jazz are attempting to upgrade their roster ahead of the start of free agency in hopes of re-signing Gordon Hayward.

The point guard position is one area they would like to address in case George Hill leaves.

Utah is also exploring scenarios to reshape their roster if Hayward leaves in free agency. The Jazz have $16 million of cap room that can be used between now and June 30th, according to Albert Nahmad.

Hayward is expected to meet with the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat.

The Boston Celtics are seeking a commitment from Gordon Hayward before they can finalize a trade for Paul George.

The Pacers may be unwilling to wait until the start of free agency to agree upon a trade and could look elsewhere with their George trade talks.

The Celtics will need to maneuver their roster and unload salaries but they have contingencies in place.

If Boston can't secure a deal with Hayward, they could instead sign Blake Griffin and then trade for George.

The Utah Jazz have extended the qualifying offer of $2.69 million to Joe Ingles.

Ingles will be a restricted free agent.

Ingles averaged 7.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 24.0 minutes per game last season for the Utah Jazz. 

Ingles is already 29, arriving to the NBA from Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2014.

The Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers continue to discuss a Paul George trade but it is reportedly contingent on signing Gordon Hayward in free agency.

According to sources, the Celtics are in position to trade for George with a three-year extension in place. George would lose money, however, on an extend-and-trade as opposed to the raises he could receive simply becoming a free agent in 2018.

The Celtics passed on trading for Jimmy Butler at the draft and were instead focused on scenarios for George.

George has long preferred to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, but it is possible the Celtics could make a trade for him with a commitment in the long-term.

George and Hayward were both members of the 2010 draft class and there was a report in March that indicated George wanted to play with Hayward, who is from Indiana.
