The previous record was 269 by Dwight Howard.

”It’s a mix of many things, but I think my teammates have done a great job of finding me,” Gobert said when asked Monday about his spike in dunks. “Compared to last year … I have way more lobs, way more high passes this year, and it puts me in a great position to finish. It’s a great offensive play. It’s hard to guard, it puts a lot of pressure on the defense."

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 262 dunks entering Monday.

Dunks first start being recorded in 2000.

Donovan Mitchell Got Advice From James Harden And Dwyane Wade To Overcome Struggles

Mar 21, 2019 11:19 PM

Donovan Mitchell admitted that he didn't know how to handle expectations heading into his sophomore season in the league.

"Coach [Quin] Snyder stressed to me that this year was going to be a lot different, and it was one thing for me to hear, and another thing for me to go through it. It's one of those things you really have to go through, to experience. They kind of anticipated this happening; I didn't," said Mitchell.

Mitchell added that he received advice from James Harden, Kobe Bryant, and Chris Paul to get to the free-throw line more often.

"Changing my pace and making an effort to get to the free throw line, that's something James [Harden] is great at and Dwyane Wade talked to me about as well. To hear that from them and then trying to follow their advice really helped me get back on track."

Gail Miller On Banning 2 Fans: 'I Felt A Personal Responsibility To Do Something'

Mar 16, 2019 6:35 PM

Gail Miller discussed banning 2 Utah Jazz fans for life following their behavior towards Russell Westbrook.

“Reviewing the video, hearing those words, and understanding how hurtful those words are, they hurt. I felt a personal responsibility to do something. That’s my building and my team. Why should I let someone behave that way in my building? I expect people to behave as socially accepted when they are at a game," said Miller.

Miller added that while Jazz fans are not racist, the controversy surrounding Westbrook shows how there are still difficult issues to confront.

“We know that our players do feel included for the most part. They themselves represent the community. I don’t believe the people of Utah are mean and racist. I don’t think we treat people poorly. But we do need to do better in coming out of our isolation and comfort zone.”

Gail Miller Addresses Jazz Fans, Says 'We Are Not A Racist Community'

Mar 15, 2019 1:34 AM

Gail Miller addressed Utah Jazz fans before their home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in light of a recent controversy involving a fan and Russell Westbrook.

"I am extremely disappointed that one of our quote 'fans' conducted himself in such a way as to offend not only a guest in our arena, but also me personally, my family, our organization, the community, our players and you, as the best fans in the NBA. This should never happen. We are not a racist community. We believe in treating people with courtesy and respect as human beings. From time to time, individual fans exhibit poor behavior and forget their manners and disrespect players on other teams. When that happens, I want you to jump up and shout 'stop.' We have a code of conduct in this arena. It will be strictly enforced," said Miller.

The NBA sent out a memo to all 30 teams asking them to create PSA's addressing the need for civility during games.

"Other teams are not our enemies. They are our competition. Competition is a good thing. It allows players to showcase their talents and it allows fans to encourage, appreciate, cheer for and enjoy those who share their talents with us," added Miller.

Jazz Players, Ownership Planning 'Something Heartfelt' Following Westbrook Incident

Mar 14, 2019 4:07 PM

Dennis Lindsey revealed that Utah Jazz players and ownership "are going to do something that's heartfelt" following the permanent ban of a fan from Utah's Vivint Smart Home Arena.

"Our players are smart and socially conscious and want to use this as a forum," Lindsey told USA TODAY. "Thabo (Sefolosha) talked about his time in Italy, and everybody black and white has a story, but our country, like Pop (San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich) said, we have to talk about our national sin.

"People may say, 'Hey, whatever, what the fan said was a small thing.' Well, it's not. What it does is make everyone feel small, and every Caucasian should take a look at themselves and look at their heart."

Shane Keisel reportedly said "Get down on your knees like you used to."

Lindsey doesn't want to waste the opportunity of the moment.

"I'm very confident in our community," Lindsey said. "Our community has a good heart. I’m very confident in our organization. And we hope to lead from the front moving forward.

"It's a talent to divide people. It’s a special person or special organization that can unite people and say, 'We're not standing for this hurtful speech.' It's offensive to me personally. Our people are hurting, in particular our players.

"I'll take the blowback from the nonsense that’s out there. Let it come my way. I'm actually looking forward to that."

Russell Westbrook Fined $25k By NBA, Jazz Permanently Ban Fan

Mar 12, 2019 6:08 PM

Russell Westbrook has been fined $25,000 by the NBA "for directing profanity and threatening language to a fan."

The fan in question has been permanently banned by the Utah Jazz.

"Everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy and play the game in a safe, positive and inclusive environment," Jazz president Steve Starks said in a statement Tuesday. "Offensive and abusive behavior does not reflect the values of the Miller family, our organization and the community. We all have a responsibility to respect the game of basketball and, more importantly, each other as human beings. This has always been a hallmark of our incredible fan base and should forever be our standard moving forward."

Video of Westbrook saying, "I'll f--- you up" to Jazz fan Shane Keisel and his female companion.

Westbrook said Keisel told him to, "Get on your knees like you're used to," a comment Westbrook considered "completely disrespectful" and "racial."

Keisel was one of several fans who received a warning card for violating the NBA's fan code of conduct, denied saying anything inappropriate, claiming that he told Westbrook to "Ice those knees up!" According to Keisel, after Westbrook replied that it was heat on his knees, Keisel hollered, "You're going to need it." Keisel said his girlfriend, Jennifer Huff, didn't participate in the exchange.

Raymond Felton and Patrick Patterson confirmed Westbrook's side of the story. The Jazz also gathered intelligence that verified Westbrook's version.
